The Betrayal

Introduction

People have always been fascinated by the horror, violent and supernatural aspect of human existence. The sheer fear and uncontrollable terror of the idea that monsters are hiding in the shadows and under beds, disguised in human form under the appearance of skin and bone, or an unimaginable monstrosity never even thought of in the wildest of nightmares. The fear has burrowed itself into our brains and we can't help but be intrigued. It's fascinating. None of us would know, if all of the demons and monsters of the world had abilities to camouflage their true form, motives and skills. All of the unexplained and unsolved murders, disappearances and mysteries could be because the victims were unfortunate to find or see one of them in true form, were unlucky enough to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, or involved in something that could jeopardise the being's existence. How would life be if we lived in a world where these beings of supernatural powers and origins existed unbeknown to the rest of humanity?
