Narrator's POV :

Alexis faced the window in her orphanage room, watching the raindrops role down the glass. She was hugging her knees while sitting on a chair, enjoying the view.
She had especially liked rainy weather. At this very moment it was her eleventh birthday. She didn't especially care, no one had encouraged her to find birthdays exiting. No one had actually encouraged her to do anything.

The staff that worked in the orphanage had never spoke to her directly. Almost everyone she looked at, eye to eye, flinched and looked away immediately.
They eventually learnt to leave her alone to her own things, while they do theirs.
So here she was, staring out the windows at cars driving by, or comparing the raindrops by size and speed , or watching little boys and girls with their parents having fun, while she was in her room...alone.

Just how she liked it.

Alexis was put in an orphanage, not because her parents died, not because her parents hated her... Maybe, but because her father was the dark lord.
Also known as Lord voldemort, or Tom riddle, in the wizarding world.
How she knew this? Her mother had written something in a strange language, a few pages to explain everything.

She found she was witch and has learnt to accept that, she also learnt to accept she could use wandless magic as well as talking to snakes, they would follow her . She could make any animal fall under her command and can do bad things to people who are mean to her. All the traits her father also had.
She had never been proud of him.

Her mother had only mentioned her initials. But not her name, they were L.V. Alexis tried not to dwell on the fact rather father was evil and her mother was unknown. But her mother had said she loved her on the letter. The
Worst Part of it all was knowing you didn't know if the one person who ever cared about you, was alive or not. Alexis had also learnt that her full name was Alexis Merope Riddle. Merope after her grandmother.

Alexis merope Riddle had black hair, like her father, that was naturally wavy and went down to her mid-back. She had also inherited his Pale, milky skin and most of his attitude, apart from the evil side obviously. She did look like him a lot, and she was a beautiful girl, but a cold girl.

She had light pale green eyes that her dark hair made pop, which she assumed she had gotten from her mother, since she knew her father's eyes were dark.

However, whenever she was raging with fury, her eyes would turn to a dark emerald green colour that was so striking, it surprised you how they were actually for a human. No one had ever gotten her that angry though, no one dared, she was quite frightening as she was.

She rarely let emotion slide through, she had perfected a fake smile, so people wouldn't think her face was glued to make her that emotionless.
The only true emotions came when she was comfortable with someone or trusted them dearly, again, no one could do that to her.

She heard whispers behind the door, she could barely make out what they were saying.

"she is a strange one, Alexis is." she heard one of the staff say.

She recognized the voice immediately, Miss Doliphoy, a plump women, she was especially frightened by Alexis, Alexis found it funny how an old women was afraid by her, so she continued to play along with it.
She continued listening to the conversation that she knew was about her.
