Give things a go

I'm awoken by Charlotte's cries, as I try to climb out of bed I can't, Draco's arm is still wrapped around me. He must have fallen asleep as well.
"Draco" I gently try and shake him. He stirs and realises he fell asleep in my bed. He apologized but I told him he had nothing to apologize for. Honestly I felt safe and warm with him with me.
I grab Charlotte out of her swing and put her on my shoulder, gently patting her back.
"Hermione, I think we should give things a go". Draco blurts out.
"Sorry"? I ask again getting him to repeat what I think he just said.
"Lets give things a go. Lets give Charlotte the family that she deserves. I've truly changed, since Charlotte, I have new light on life and family. It doesn't make a difference regarding blood status. At Hogwarts you were the smartest witch of your age, and you continue to amaze me as a witch but also as a mother. You are a wonderful mother to our daughter and I hope she grows up to have thensame qualities as you. You're definitely smarter than me even though your muggle born. Your exactly what I want in my life now. What I'm really trying to say Mione is that 'I love you".
"Draco" I whisper
I walk up to him and our lips lock. I'm careful not to disturb Charlotte though who's fallen asleep again on my shoulder.
"I love you too". I reply once we come up for air.
I pass Charlotte to him and he goes to her room to place her in her cot. We meet on the couch and talk.
"Do you really think we can make this work"? I question
"No reason it can't Mione". He replies
"I love you Draco, but what if this doesn't, I don't want Charlotte to have a broken family, she needs her family."
"I understand your cautious, but I truly love you, words cannot describe how much I love you and I'll do anything for the both of you and if things don't work out, I believe we can resolve any issues in the mature way." He reassures me.
He wraps his arms around me. That warmth, that safety returns.
"One thing though, I hope everyone is okay with this. We will be headline news in the Daily Prophet, I just want a quiet life after Hogwarts spending time with family and friends, not being dragged back into past events, beliefs and rumors." I say
"Lets take it one step at a time." He replies.
And so we do
