(A/N Alexandra's school, Pine Hills High School, is up in the media. Enjoy!)
Wow, first day of school and my day is already rotten. Who knew teachers could be so mean?
I got a detention in Science because I'm a new student. Either that, or this teacher dislikes people with less melanin. (I'll let you figure out what that means). Mr. Ripley, that's his name, happened to be collecting homework when I walked into class. I was able to set my things down before being shadowed by him. He held his hand out expectantly, I assumed he was waiting for homework.
"I..... don't have it." I told him calmly. I figured he would understand. Oh, this is a new girl, she must not have her homework, that's totally fine! Nope.
"Detention." He responded firmly and kept walking. I looked around at the other students, trying to figure out what I did wrong. The all met my gaze, looking just as lost I was.
So I get in trouble for existing. Well then, why exist anymore. (Now c'mon, I'm not gonna kill myself....... yet.)
The bell rung shortly after the little incident, (Would've been great if it rang earlier! Thanks alot though bell!) and we were all dismissed to lunch.
Like I said, pretty rotten day.
Right now, I'm sitting alone at the lunch table, like I always have the first day of each school I've been to. I've grown used to it, like I have to every single home I've lived in. I was about to take a sip of my milk when a tray slammed down beside me. This is new, someone actually sitting next to me? Hmmm......
"Hey!"
It was a boy, I could tell that without even looking at him. Imagine the sound thunder makes, but down ten notches. That was his voice. I slowly gazed up at him. His head was the craziest mix of colors I'd ever seen! He had blonde hair for one, and his eyes were a crystal blue! You'd expect him to be very light, but nope! This boy had the most melanin in him I'd ever seen! (Again, I'll let you figure out what that means if you haven't already).
"Yes?" I stuttered, still a bit shocked.
"My friends and I are going for a little trip through the forest tomorrow, wanna come?"
He invited me to go somewhere. I guess its a start of making new friends........ no. Friends don't exist to me anymore, seeing as how I'd have to leave them behind eventually anyway.
"Sure." I told him, gazing as he trotted away happily.
