Recruitment

"Rhode move up, I'll keep watch from up here." I said, through the earpieces we were all wearing.
"Alright Commander." Rhode replied, moving past a building and behind a car. I could tell he was clutching his rifle tightly.
"Raven, do you have vision on the device?" I ask, keeping my sniper rifle's sights steady on the doorway to the building that got hit.
"Yes Captain." He answered, looking in the window to the building.
"Well what is it?"
"It's.. green and glowing. Everyone around it is dead sir."
"Okay, get out of there." I ordered. I stood up and watched Raven move away from the window. Rhode stood up and joined him. As they walked to meet with me our radios flickered to life.
"This is an automatic message, we are initiating the X-COM Project." As the radio dies I turn to Rhode and Raven.
"What was-" Raven began.
"That wasn't meant for us, but we have to get to base." I said, cutting him off.
"Why?" Rhode said, looking at me with intense curiosity.
"Earth is being invaded. We need to get the others." I said, turning and walking towards the base. The others simply followed.

As I walked in the door I saw Elapse looking at me with wild eyes.
"Is it true? Are we being invaded?" She asked, running towards me and grabbing onto my arm.
"Could she not.." I heard AniMeta exclaim in my head. 
"Calm down Meta, and yes it's true. We need to go, the commander will need us." I said calmly.
"The Commander..." Rhode begins quizzically, walking in behind me "but you're the commander."
"Not in that way, not anymore. We need to get to the new base. It's located underground, I'll drive us there." I said, looking down at my Y-COM Logo on my Uniform.
"Alright, I'll get the others." Elapse said quietly.

We approached the gate to the underground base. The guard demanded my credentials. I showed him and he let us in. Agent Vex sat in the seat beside me.
"I don't like this." She said.
"Neither do I." I replied.
We exited our transport and walked to the barracks. I turned and handed out the locker numbers that I had received at the checkpoint to the Agents. As we opened the lockers we found our new Black X-COM Uniforms, but with the Y-COM Logo emblazoned next to the original. The Commander entered the barracks after we equipped ourselves.
"Congratulations Agents. You have been recruited as our secret agents of X-COM." He said, he turned to me. "Commander Lucius, I assume you will want to keep your position as Commander of Y-COM. You'll be in charge of leading your troops."
"Thank you Commander." I replied.
"Dr. Vahlen, Dr. Shen, and Central will want to meet the new recruits, and that includes you guys. So once your finished getting ready, report to Mission Command." The Commander said, smiling to us as he left. Elapse turned to me.
"Lucius, I'm glad you're still our leader."
"Thank you Agent." I turn towards the others. "Now I know this is all strange. I know you all are probably having a rough time following along, and this probably all seems very confusing to you. We have a new enemy, and they're not from Earth. This will be no different from when we took down KayzarCore. Except now, we have more toys." I crack a smile, and see the look of confidence on my agents faces. "Now lets go meet our new teammates."
