Emerald-crown spun around on the spot, hissing violently. The blood running down her face and her sharp, white teeth made quite the terrifying scene. The dragoness' gaze locked onto a large, white figure who was in turn, staring back at her. Before Emerald-crown could prepare herself for any type of attack, the large white figure leaped, pinning her to the ground. Underneath it's huge claws, she saw it was a huge white male dragon with icy blue eyes.
"Who are you?" Emerald-crown spat at the intruder in her forest territory.
"I'm Cloud-scale." The intruder responded, his blue gaze calm and curious. "You are?"
"Emerald-crown..." Her eyes widened as she saw his long claws pressed against her neck, nearly cutting directly into her.
"Oh, um, sorry about that, I thought you were going to attack me." The tips of the scales under his eyes flushed pink as he jumped off of her. Emerald-crown stood up, realizing what a size difference there was. Cloud-scale was at least two times her height! The white dragon shifted awkwardly, leaving Emerald-crown to fire off questions, as she realized attacking him was probably a death sentence.
"Why are you here?" She asked, stalking around the bigger dragon.
"I was hungry, and there is not much food in the valley where I live. I didn't see any dragons in the area, so I thought I had this province to mys--"  Cloud-scale hissed suddenly as another loud set of footsteps flooded Emerald-crown's ears. The large white dragon pushed himself in front of Emerald-crown as soon as she saw a flash of red.
"Ruby-fang! Why are you here?" Came Cloud-scale's agitated roar. Emerald-crown looked around Cloud-scale, seeing another dragon, smaller than Cloud-scale but bigger than herself, that had cherry red scales. Those red scales rippled aggressively and the dragon shot a black gaze at Emerald-crown.
"I heard on the grapevine that you had found a new home. And a new mate apparently." The dragon's voice was soaked in hatred and mockery. Emerald-crown felt her face grow red as Cloud-scale pushed her back behind him, curving his tail around her warningly.
"We are not mates." Cloud-scale said, as calm as ever, "This is not your territory. Leave." Emerald-crown heard a snicker and what sounded like a "Make me," before Cloud-scale disappeared from in front of her and was on top of the smaller, red dragon. The red dragon was able to dislodge Cloud-scale somehow, who went flying, dazed. The next thing Emerald-crown knew was that she was on the ground, Ruby-fang on top of her. He hissed in her face as she thrashed under his weight. Emerald-crown prepared herself as the dragon raised his claw, about to strike her across the face. She felt the cut, swift across her face, sting and she screeched loudly.  Suddenly, the weight was lifted off of Emerald-crown and she heard Cloud-scale's growl.
"Leave her out of this, Arctic!" He snarled, biting Ruby-fang on the neck, who cried out in pain and flew off in a rush. Cloud-scale then promptly turned to Emerald-crown and simply said, "Are you okay?"
