Eleven years ago, my parents died and I was left alone. I remember it all. My mom screaming at my dad, my screams of terror, the women that told me my parents were dead. I don't know why I'm thinking about this right now, my first day of school. But I should get up. I like to get up early, and I'm waiting for my alarm to go off. I can't get back to sleep for some odd reason. I turn over to my bedside table and look at the alarm clock. It says five forty five. I turn off my alarm clock and get up. My clothes I picked out are strewn about my small room. I really should get some more space. I mean, I am sixteen. I then look at my bedside table and see it. My mask. The mask that I wear every day. The mask that I choose to wear. It covers half of my face. Half my lips, and the whole right side of my face except my eye. It's white porcelain, and it's really actually pretty. I gently pick up the mask and put it on. I cross my room to the bathroom and adjust it so you can't see all the scars and cuts. I then go back to my and find my clothes. "ALICE, GET DOWN HERE! ITS BREAKFAST TIME!!" Mrs Brown shouts from downstairs. I haven't been with Mrs.Brown for a long time but I've picked up a couple things about her. One, she's obsessed with her daughter, Maddie. And two, she hates everyone and everything else. Especially me. I get my shoes from my closet and walk downstairs holding them. I see Maddie at the breakfast table eating Lucky Charms cereal. When I walk into the room she glares at me. Maddie is thirteen years old. And she sit acts like it. Maddie is the rudest person I have ever met. She blames things she does on me and annoys me to death. But Mrs.Brown doesn't ever listen to me. She believes everything Maddie says, and doesn't listen to me ever. Mrs.Brown comes over to me. "BRUSH YOUR HAIR YOU BRAT." She yells in my ear. I can hear Maddie snickering next to me. I go to the bathroom and brush my hair. "EAT YOUR BREAKFAST YOU'll BE LATE. IF YOU HADN'T TAKEN SO MUCH TIME ON YOUR HAIR YOU WOUlD'VE HAD MORE TIME TO EAT." She yells. "But you told me to brush my hair." I say. "I DONT CARE NOW EAT!" Mrs.Brown screams. "I'm ready mother." Maddie says. I look behind me and there she is. With her blonde bombshell hair she has a smiley face t-shirt on with a sparkly vest paired with sketchers and a pink glittery hair bow. Also a bedazzled kitten backpack. "Oh Maddie dear you look sparkling!" Mrs.Brown says. She pushes me over and kisses Maddie on the cheek. I thought she looked like a disco ball. But I didn't say that. Cause then Mrs.Brown would probably kill me. I go to the table and start eating breakfast. "Mrs.Brown, could you please.." " NOOO!" Mrs.Brown screamed at the top of her lungs. "NOW EAT FASTER YOUR MAKING MADDIE LATE AND NOW I WILL NOT DRIVE YOU TO SCHOOL YOU WILL WALK." "Ok..." "DONT YOU SASS ME." Mrs.Brown screamed.
