A couple of blinks and I was wide awake instantly. I had heard a soft running pace coming towards me. When the person had come into view I noticed that it was in fact a child, maybe 10 or so, and the child happened to be female. As she drew nearer, she looked particularly parched and tired, so I scooped her up and gave her some water and left her to rest while I went out to find something to eat.

By the time I had returned, the little girl had awoken, so I asked her name. She replied with Nathalia, and told me that her village had been under attack and she was the only survivor and had managed to flee from the attackers, only to stumble accross the ruins and finding me. I felt like I had an obligation to tell her my events as well, so I did, leaving out the parts that were unecessary for a 10 year old to hear.

She took my hand and told me everything was going to be ok, and that now we had eachother. I asked her where she was headed and she replied "anywhere that you are going." I told her that I was going to Rydelia and that I would look after her as much as I possibly could, and she beamed at me.

Nathalia, even being so young had a very pretty face, and nice, long black hair, with deep blue eyes that would make you smile even just to catch a glimpse of them. She was quite thin, but I think that is only because of how long she has possibly gone without food, and I dread to think how long she has been out here on her own. For a young girl she has already been through a lot, and I want to help her as much as I possibly can, even if it means me having to look after her until she is at the age where she can go and do as she wishes.

I know already that we were going to have some very fun adventures together, whether it be finding Rydelia or within the walls of the city, and I knew that I had made a new friend and that our friendship would last a lifetime.
