I watched him as he flirted with my best friend, Bryn Erica. The way he smiled at her, the way he touched her, it just crumbled my heart into millions of pieces.
Bryn was a beautiful girl. She had dark brown hair, and she had big blue eyes. She was one of the prettiest girls I knew, and she was my best friend.
I didn't tell anyone about my love for Ethan. Not even Bryn. I'm not even sure I want Ethan to know.
I continued watching them. She's flashed her gorgeous smile, and he smiled back. They were laughing together, like they were best friends.
I had to tell Bryn sooner or later, before she takes my man.
Ethan is mine. I don't care if he asks Bryn out. I will never allow them to be together. I can't handle it. I'm the jealous type. I love Ethan. I couldnt stand seeing my best friend be with the love if my life.
"Madison!" my teacher demands.
"uh, yes?" I say.
"what's the answer?" she asks me, pointing to the white board with her pointing stick.
She looked over her black round glasses, glaring at me.
"uhh, it's..umm," I stutter. "it's-"
"it's B." Ethan finishes for me.
"thank you" I mouth the words to him.
He gives me a simple smile, and looks away.
"Madison, lunch DT today." says Mrs. Guthrie.
She handed me a slip, that read:
'Lunch DT for Madison Henderson.'
And then her signature.
Mrs. Guthrie continued to go on and on about stupid math, that I'd never need to know in the future anyways. I kept day dreaming about Ethan and I.
We'd have three kids. Two boys, one girl. We'd get married in the beaches of Hawaii, and spend our honeymoon in Paris.
Perfect.
Everything would work out, except for the fact that Ethan wasn't mine yet.
Ethan was a smart, talented, athletic, good-looking man.
I was just a simple, blonde hair, blue eyed girl. I play volleyball, and I sing.
Ethan would never fall for a girl like me. Because he's going to fall for Bryn.
My thoughts were disturbed by the ringing of the bell, letting us know it was lunch.
High school kids flooded the halls, and everyone was rushing to the cafeteria.
I slowly packed up my stuff, and I walked out of my classroom door.
Bryn was walking with Ethan. They were laughing together. I couldn't help myself. I needed to stop this. But I just couldn't tell anyone about my love for Ethan. Not even Bryn.
I caught up with my other best friend Rachel.
She was beautiful. Long dirty blond hair, with brown eyes.
"hey girl!" Rachel says.
"hey!" I reply.
"what's up?" she asks.
"You know, same as you." I say.
Rachel giggled, and she walked away from me meeting up with her boyfriend, Carlos.
I watched as they held hands. They walked down the halls with her head resting on his shoulder.
I was so jealous of her relationship, but so happy for her. She's loved Carlos for what seemed like forever.
He was all she talked about. She dazed at him all of the time. She stalked his Facebook, and tracked down his girlfriends.
I sped down the hall, getting to my locker. Number 143, combination 18-00-35.
Books fell out of my locker, leaving a big thud. People around me stared, but eventually something else caught their attention.
I piled my books back in the locker, and took out my social studies book.
I quickly went over to the cafeteria. The line up was long, and filled with people. The last two in line were Ethan and Bryn.
Hand in hand.
They are dating.
