|| part two ||alice's point of view.
i put the final touch to my eye makeup, my mascara, the key to glamorous eyes and boys hearts, or what i could remember from what my mom always told me while dressing me up. just then dominic walked in, leaning against the door frame. "wow alice, you look beautiful as always," he said coming in closer, "you ready?" i nodded putting in my earrings and looked up at him.
"i am," i smiled looking myself in the mirror, i never realized how much mint green suited me. i wore an off-shoulder applique mint green homecoming dress with embellishments.
-
dominic had dropped me off once again in front of the building i had dreaded to see this morning but now it was lit up and students were already having a fun night.
as i walked up the steps a hand made its way to intertwining our fingers, i looked over to see . . . reggie mantle? "uh, a-alice, you look very beautiful tonight," he stuttered blushing at the last part. "thank you reginald, you look quite handsome yourself," i smirked as we walked inside to be greeted by posters of my beloved best friend.
jason blossom.
"do you want a drink?" i simply nodded then he walked off into the crowd, i, myself was still looking around admiring the declarations around the gym.
"whoa! alice you look, amazingly beautiful tonight." a familiar voice said beside me, i looked over with a smile plastered on my face to see archie andrews, holding onto betty cooper. "thank you archie," betty complimented my dress and how i look as well. "as for you betty, i love the wavy hair."
"thank you alice, the mint green really suits you," i smiled went looking for reggie. he was near the punch with moose, pouring i'm assuming, alcohol into it. "forget about my drink or what?"
"sorry alice," he chuckled pouring me punch, "here." i took and downed it easy, the alcohol burning my throat a bit, "holy shit, what is that?" i asked making a disgusting face, he chuckled once more while grabbing me by the waist and pulling me on the dance floor.
"good evening friends, are you all having a good time?" cheering was heard everywhere.
we all stared on stage where cheryl blossom was. "as honorary chairperson and de fasto queen of tonight's semiformal, it's my great pleasure to introduce this evening's main entertainment. to know them is to be obsessed with them. though they usually preform their own material, tonigh, they're making an exception and debuting a cover of the song my parents claim they were listening to the night jason and i were conceived; this one's for you jj. i give you josie and the pussycats."
i turned to reggie who stared back at me, "would you like to dance?" i nodded wrapping my arms around his neck. "i'd love to, reg."
-
the dance was over, i was somewhere in reggie's car kissing him then we were told there was an after-party at the blossom's.
"its game time at chez blossom, kiddies." cheryl spoke looking at us all, she somewhat smiled at me so i returned to smile back. "we're going old-school tonight, seven minutes in heaven. who wants to tryout the closet of love first? my vote is 'a' for archie, anyone care to second it."
all eyes landed on him, he looked at betty nervously. "wait actually-" he began but was rudely interrupted by reggie. "yes andrews, yes!" i elbowed his side, he looked at me then rolled his eyes. "all right, gather round, kids, let's see who's riding the ginger stallion tonight."
she spun an empty bottle, it slowed down, stopping on veronica lodge. "oh, no way," reggie said, i myself had the reaction. "its clearly pointing to, the new girl, this should be fun."
i love cheryl like a sister but sometimes she could be a bitch. "i'm not doing this." said the new girl, "that's up to you, but if you don't, house rules decree the hostess gets to take your turn." betty and veronica looked at each other for a split second.
-
i chased betty so far then she stopped to hug me, "want me to walk you home, bets?" she nodded in response.
"betty, how much do you like archie?" i asked clueless to my fellow peer, she just told me she liked him while we were kids, i never really talked about him like that. "its not like alice, i love him," she told me still hanging on to my waist. while walking in silence to her house, she lets go of me. "thank for being my shoulder to cry on ali," i gave her a smile and nodded, "you did the same when i lost jason."
-
tuh-duh! done.
by the way, this is the dress she wore.
