Once upon a time, there was a girl named Ami. She attended college to obtain a Bachelor of Arts in Professional Writing. On most weekdays, she would walk home from her campus in the afternoon, with a backpack hung around her back, and a pair of white earphones in her ears. She didn't have any specific favourite genre of music to listen to, and that particular day, she felt like listening to some hip hop songs. She had repeated that part of her daily routine for the past two years. By that day, she could practically walk blindfolded as she had memorised the path between her campus and her home. It was just another normal day... or so she thought.

She suddenly saw someone lying in the middle of the walkway, looking lifeless, as if he wasn't breathing. What if he really isn't breathing? With that thought, she quicken her pace towards him. She shook his body. "Sir, are you okay?" She asked. But he didn't respond, nor moved an inch. She placed her index and middle finger near his nostrils to check if he's breathing. Nope. He wasn't. She couldn't even feel his pulse on his wrist. She quickly took out her phone from her bag, called the ambulance, and put it on speaker. While she was explaining the situation to the operator, she performed CPR on him. She never stopped for even a second. The weather was quite warm on that particular day, and every few seconds, she could feel more sweats form on her forehead, as she got tired by the minute. At some point, she would scan around the area to look for any residence to assist her, but unfortunately, there were no one in sight. I don't think I can hold on for much longer, she said to herself.

Luckily for her, the paramedics finally came a few moments later. She was relieved, and wiped off her sweat with her sleeve as she was quite exhausted at that point. "You did a good job, miss." One of the paramedics said to her. She watched as they carefully placed him on the stretcher, and took him into the ambulance.

"Miss, you need to come too."

"But, I'm just a pedestrian." She said.

"Even so, please. We don't have much time." Without second thought, she quickly hopped into the ambulance.

She just stayed silent on the way to the hospital as she sat by the corner of the vehicle. She watched the paramedics as they put the oxygen mask on him, and did other things as well. She didn't know what to say. "Miss, you really don't know him?" The paramedic asked again. She then realised that she didn't really observed the unconscious man's face, so she took that chance to do so. He could be her neighbour, or maybe even her classmate. Who knows, right. It took her awhile to recognize his face, but then, as she recalled back her memories, she could not believe her eyes. "Oh, it's him."
