"I'm not too late am I?" I yelled as I burst through the large wooden doors.

Some-one in the corner was laughing.

"No you're not" Smiled Julia, the receptionist.

"Thank god!" I sighed, wiping my forehead with the back of my hand.

She pointed to a sleek black door "Go in there, they're waiting for you"

I nodded, mouthed a thank-you and walked in, my cheeks still burned red but I had made it, I wasn't too late!

"Ah Ms Fisher how nice of you to join us!" Hissed Richard, scowling.

"I know, I know I'm late again but I missed the bus and then I-"

"Just sit down Ms Fisher" He cut in.

being as formal as possible are we?

But I just nodded slightly and sat down next to a small, balding man, Who was he?

Now I come to think about it, who were all of these people, where was Janice, Suzy, Thomas, Ben?

"Richard where ar-"

I stop when I saw his scowl.

"Never mind"

"Now as I was saying" He continued, obviously he hadn't bothered waiting for me.

"-How to we know we can trust you?" Asks the balding man sitting next to me, suspiciously.

I took in his appearance, not only was he balding, he'd made an obvious mistake in growing a large beard, he looked a bit like a Hobo you'd see outside Tesco and his clothing didn't help either, he was wearing a rather well worn lilac shirt with a massive ketchup stain down the front and a deep blue tie with small - What looked like England flags - On.

"Good question Mr Tyson, and it will be answered shortly but first, Lunch" He smiled, rising from his seat.

Everyone murmured words of approval

I jumped up, hungry already, but sat back down again when I saw Richards steely gaze, he wanted words, I knew that for sure.

"Ms Fisher, I've noticed you've been very late recently" He frowned.

I dropped his gaze.

"Well yes but things have been hec-"

"No buts Ms Fisher, if you're late one more time you're out!" He growled and walked to the door.

"There really is no need to be so Formal, Richard" I whispered, just before he opened the door.

"Look Florence, I realise things aren't great at your home, what with you're sister ill and her kids to look after but you must be punctual, that's the only way you'll make it in this industry" He tried sympathy, it didn't work, actually it annoyed me so much I did something stupid.

"I quit" I said, glaring at him just like he had done to me that morning.

He scoffed, pushing open the door "Right"

"I mean it" I whispered.

"Mhm" He sighed, wanting to go and eat his Lunch.

"Whatever, bye Richard" I shrugged, pulling myself out of my seat and walking out the door toward my office.

"Wait bu-but you can't!" He yelled after me.

I frowned "Why the fuck not?"

"Be-be-because" He stuttered, obviously this wasn't a bluff.

I tapped my foot impatiantly waiting for an answer, when there was none I walked over to my desk and packed my things.

It wasn't until I was outside that I knew I was screwed.

WHY THE HELL DID I JUST DO THAT?

I silently cursed myself for being an Idiot, I mean who else can say they've been late at least 40 times and gotten away with it? And at a high paying job.

I sighed, but I guess there was no going back now.

I Crossed the road with my dignity still intacked, atleast until I got home.

I flew into my apartment, tears streaming already and sank into my bed, fully-clothed.

I screamed, I cried but most of all, I hated my guts.

I was such a moron.

I hoisted myself up on the dirty pile of laundry I was meant to do yesturday and walked into the kitchen, gotta get dinner ready for when my sister's kids get back.

Sometimes I wish it were me that had the crash and not her, but I know that's stupid and block it out of my mind.

Stupid, stupid, stupid Florence, that's me.

I sighed and weaved my hands in and out of my already tangled hair, brushing the knots and creating new ones.

My life, is over.
