If I Could See You Again

"Do you care to enlighten me why you are here at two in the night?" Justin asked sleepily as I snuggled beside him in the bed meant for only one to sleep in.

"No." I replied and closed my eyes against his chest after making him shift a little so that I wouldn't fall off the single bed. "Just stop asking me questions and sleep."

He sighed but held me tighter as we both fell asleep.

"Stop being a baby and come here!" he called out to me.

"No!" I called back. "The water's too cold."

"Don't be like this." He said as he pulled himself on the dock and walked over to me. We were in Long Island on a little vacation.

"Don't you dare do that." I said. I knew he was about to wrap his arms around me and lift me up and jump into the cold water with me.

And that's just what he did. He scooted me in his strong arms and stood at the edge with me struggling.

"Noooo!!" I screamed as he jumped and we both went down into the freezing water.

---

"You know, I have always wanted to bring you here." He said as I stared at the bright shining stars overhead while sitting on the edge of the cliff of his 'favourite' spot. It was not a spectacular place for a New Yorker but for him, it was heaven. It was this spot he came to when he needed peace and silence and time to think. We were in Central Park staring at the clear July sky.

"You might have mentioned it a few times before." I replied casually, trying not to show him any hint of the emotions that were bubbling inside of me. I was the only person he had shown this place to, so it was a really big deal for me as well. This meant he trusted me.

"You like it?" he asked, looking expectantly at me with his crystal blue eyes.

"Yes, I do." I replied and shuffled some of his blond hair, that made him chuckle.

---

"Remind me why I'm doing this again?" he asked me while helping me carry the empty bowls back into the kitchen of John Feral House for Troubled Teens. I had volunteered to help in the centre after reading about it in the newspaper and had dragged him along to help me. He had complained a little in the beginning but had started to enjoy himself with the kids. He even played the piano for them.

The smile on his perfect face was flawless and the shine in his blue eyes was a sign that he liked being here.

"Because you love me too much to refuse anything I ask you to do." I said and earned a peck on my forehead for it.

"That I surely do." He replied.

---

"This bag is so heavy." He whined. "You sure there are no stones in it."

"Check if you doubt me." I replied while walking in front, carrying his backpack which happened to be the lighter one. No, there weren't really any stones in my backpack that he was carrying. Just a few necessities, like my change of clothes, a medicine kit, a rope and all that stuff.
