New beginnings

One year later

Clarke unloaded the final bag from her boot, her mother quickly came around from the front seat to meet her daughter who was officially going off to college. "m-mum", Abby had light tears rolling down her cheeks, she pulled Clarke in for an emotional hug. "I can't believe the day is finally here", she spoke through her feelings. Raven then came over with a box in hand and bag strapped over her. "Oh don't you start crying Ms G, because I'll start" Raven lightly joked. Abby pulled from her daughters arms at the sound of Ravens voice.
"Well I guess I should let you guys get settled in"
"Thanks mum, I'll call you when I can", Abby quickly hugged Raven then took the car back home.
Raven and Clarke were now standing outside of their new college, they looked at each other and gathered their things and made their way inside to administration.

"How can I help you ladies?" The receptionist asked, "uh hi, we are new students, enrolled". Clarke placed her things on the floor.
"Names?"
"Clarke Griffin and Raven Reyes"
"Right, I have you guys down in the system. Clarke you are in room 72, which is to your left down the hall" she gestured. "Raven, you are in room 98, which is also to your left down the hall and take a right. Here are your schedules, maps and everything you need to know", the lady handed them both multiple sheets of paper. They rested their arms on the front desk while going through it all. "Right, thank you", Clarke said picking her stuff up. They both proceeded down the hall they were gestured to. "Well this is me" Clarke stopped as she found her new room, Raven was bummed, "okay, I'm
Gonna go find mine, hopefully it's not too far away, see ya later, C". They parted ways, Clarke took a deep breath before turning her doorknob.
She opened the door and was greeted by someone already in the room. "You must be my new roommate" she stopped what she was doing, "apparently so" Clarke smiled, "the names Niylah" she went in for a handshake. Clarke dropped everything to return it. "Clarke".
"Well Clarke, I didn't know when you'd be getting here so I picked the top bunk, hope you don't mind" Clarke chuckled, "it's fine". She said placing her things on the bottom bunk.

Clarke settled into her dorm and made small talk with her new roomie, Niylah.
Clarke and Niylah got to know each other, Clarke mentioned that she was from around here in Arkadia studying to be a veterinarian and Niylah said she was from a small town outside of Arkadia, coming to studying medicine, they had quite a bit in common. She also mentioned Lexa and how she got accepted into another school.

Laughter could be heard from the opened door of their room. There was a loud knock on the door. "Lexa?", Clarke jumped at the sudden noise. The laughter died down and Clarke was now bewildered yet happy to see her girlfriend. Lexa smiled cautiously, "Clarke" she said looking at both girls, they both got off the bed and welcomed Lexa. "Come in!", Clarke said excitedly, "how'd you find me?" She asked eagerly.
"Just asked the administrations what room you were in" she replied bluntly, scanning over Niylah. Clarke saw she was eyeing her and decided to introduce them.
"Niylah this is Lexa, my-"
"I'm Clarke's girlfriend, Lexa", she finished her sentence. Awkward silence filled the room, Niylah looked at Clarke with amusement, "right" she shook Lexa's hand,
"yes, Clarke's told me much of you", Lexa let go of her hand,
"and she's told me nothing of you" Lexa fake smiled.
"Righhtttt", Clarke saw the tension rising, she shoved Lexa into the hallway. Lexa not taking her eye off Niylah, the amused smirk still across the roommates face. Lexa tried to steal a kiss off Clarke but was denied, "Lexa" she put her hand on her chest, "what's gotten into you",
"nothing, just wanted to see my girlfriend" she defended, "I thought you left for AUC today" Clarke jerked a brow.
"Tomorrow, me, O and Lincoln are traveling together. Figured it's a 2 hour drive, might not see my girlfriend for awhile, thought I might surprise her". Clarke smiled, she was happy Lexa wanted to surprised her but knew something was up with the way she was acting around her new roommate. "You act like you're jealous" Lexa didn't say anything, but her facial expression did, "really, Lex?" Clarke looked at Niylah then back to her girlfriend. "She's my roommate, I've known her all of 5 minutes, but she's really cool and we have a lot in common, surprisingly, so play nice" Lexa just looked down, "oh great",
"Come on" Clarke lifted Lexa's frowned face with her fingers, "I'll get ready and we'll go out" she said after placing a kiss on Lexa's lips. Lexa nodded in agreement and waited by the door.
"Sorry about her, she can be a little protective and jealous" she admitted to Niylah, "it's fine, Clarke, I'm sure she's a great girl, I mean she got you didn't she" Niylah smirked, Clarke half smiled and proceeded to get ready.

Lexa and Clarke decided on watching a new movie at the cinema. They got to the cinema and found their seats, towards the back in the middle, perfecting viewing seats.
"I'm excited to see this" Clarke said as she picked at her popcorn, Lexa smiling at her,
"me too".
They intertwined their hands and waited for the previews to start. Half way through, Clarke subconsciously rested her head on Lexa's shoulder. Lexa reacted by lightly kissing her girlfriends head.

They got through the movie and by the time it finished it was around 10pm. Clarke stretched out of her seat and yawned, "man that was good".
Lexa copied and got up to stretch.
"Best get you back to your dorm, we both have big days tomorrow" she said placing her hand on Clarke's back, leading her out of the cinema.

They got to the car and Clarke yawned again.
Lexa sat in the drivers seat, they were in Raven's car as Abby had taken Clarke's home with her. Lexa's was still in the college parking lot.
Lexa proceeed to put on her seatbelt but stopped when she noticed Clarke eyeing her. "What is it?" She sat back in her seat puzzled.
"Nothing, just remembering your cute face for when I won't be able to see you", Clarke smiled warmly, Lexa blushed. She moved in her seat in a way that made it easier to touch Clarke's face. "I could never forget how beautiful you are" she said caressing her cheek. She lent in for a passionate kiss and was granted permission.
She then drove back ASC to drop Clarke off and say goodnight.
