Lexa was in her first lecture of the day and was just given her first assignment in college. She had carefully skimmed over it so she had a clear understanding on what had been needed.

"Any questions?" Several students raised their hands but none of them were Lexa. At that moment Lexa got a text on her mobile that buzzed, alerting her.  "hey babe, hows it going?"
She smiled, every time Clarke's name popped onto her screen. "I'm good, hows your morning?"
She looked back to her lecture who had eyed her for not paying attention but said nothing. She locked her phone for the time being so she wouldn't get in trouble. Class finished and she left promptly. Lexa pulled her phone out and was welcomed by a few messages from Clarke. "I miss you!" The latest one read. She smiled at her phone, maybe she had nothing to worry about after all. After replying to her girlfriend, she rang Octavia to see where she was. "Hey O" she started, "Lexa hey!"
"class is finished if you're free did you want to grab some lunch?" To that Octavia replied, happy to oblige. They met up at a small cafe on campus to chat.
"It's only the first week and I'm already overwhelmed with work." Octavia exclaimed. "You and me both, I wonder how the others are taking it." She referred to the brunette and blonde back at Arkadia. "This is just about the longest you ask Clarke will have spent apart since you met, are you holding up okay?" Octavia asked with genuine curiosity. She never really had to be apart from Lincoln and they both fortunately attended the same school. But she knew if they were apart for long periods of time, it would be hard. Which is where her question came in. Lexa just sighed not knowing how to answer. But deep down she knew issues could arise from being long distance. She didn't want to admit it, but it was hard. "I guess so.We will see" was all Lexa managed to get out. Octavia noted the worry on Lexa's face. "If you're overthinking it babe, try not to. Clarke wouldn't do anything to jeopardise your relationship and if she did, I'd slap her." They both let out a smile, Octavia was trying to help and it worked, even if it was for just a moment. "We're in college, she's young and beautiful, she's never been with another girl. What if she wants to explore her options." Lexa sighed after letting her thoughts get the best of her. "Look Lex, I'm not gonna sit here and act like that's impossible, but I know Clarke and she values work and study, and you luckily caught her attention, which is something that's hard to do. So don't think that some random is just gonna come and snatch her up. If that happens, then that's not the Clarke I know." She tried her best to reassure her. "You're right, O. I know Clarke better than that. I'll try not to let my thoughts win." With that they ordered food and talked on the lighter side of things for the rest of the time.

A couple hours had passed and Lexa had one final class for the day before she could head back to her dorm for the night. It wasn't going to be anything exciting, unless you'd consider studying exciting.

A few days later

It was finally Friday, which meant everyone had officially survived their first week at college. As stressful as it was, it was only just beginning. Clarke and Lexa had their conversations as often as they could. Clarke was in her room taking a moment to herself after a long week when Niylah came in. "How would you like to come to a little party tonight?" Clarke was frozen, still processing what she had just asked "cmon, you can get to know some people, make some friends, take a load off from the hard week we've had." Niylah continued, trying to convince Clarke. "I don't know" she said with uncertainty, "I have a lot of work to get through" she looked at all her papers. Niylah went up to Clarke and grabbed her by the wrist, "that can wait, cmon let's go" before she could contest, they were out the door. They were walking down the street, Clarke looked herself up and down thinking she was hardly dressed appropriately for a party. "So where exactly is this party?" Clarke questioned, they kept walking, "it's more of a little get together, just at this bar down the road."
Why did I let her drag me into this
Shortly after a few minute walk they arrived, "I'll meet you inside I just have to make a call." Clarke stopped at the entrance. "Suit yourself" Niylah shrugged and carried on. She tried ringing Lexa to no success, so she decided to send her a message.
"I'm at a bar with niylah and some of her friends, I'll message you later, love you!"

With that she headed in.

The notification had hit Lexa's phone a minute later. She was in the shower so unaware that her girlfriend had messaged her. She got out and reached for her phone noting the missed call and message. Her heart dropped momentarily.
A bar? With niylah?
Her heart started racing at all of the possibilities. She didn't even know if Niylah liked women, but you can't just assume someone's sexuality. She tried shaking her thoughts, but as an over thinker she couldn't help it. It wasn't that she didn't trust Clarke, she didn't trust other people. She didn't want to lose Clarke in any way, she was so in love with this girl, and Clarke felt the same. Lexa was just too worried to see that right now. Instead of messaging her like she wanted to, Lexa decided to wait til Clarke texted first.

A few hours passed and it was hitting 10pm, she was worried as she had heard nothing. She decided to finally ring her. Clarke answered momentarily, "hi baby!" She sounded a little intoxicated. "Hi, Clarke" she was relieved to hear her voice. "What are you up to?" She continued. "Just having a few drinks, I've met some awesome new friends."
"That's great, babe. I'm glad you're enjoying yourself." Lexa went quiet, she could hear the noise coming from the background. "Niylahs been getting me drunk, she's such a bad influence." She said while laughing, you could hear Niylah in the background having a laugh aswell. "I got to go now, speak later. I love you Lex." With that she hung up.
Even though Lexa hardly knew Niylah, something about her made Lexa's blood boil. She placed her phone on her bed and proceeded to place her hands on her head in frustration.
"What's wrong?" Echo looked up at Lexa. "Just my girlfriend, Clarke. She's at some bar with her roomie."
"Ah" was all Echo said not knowing how to reply.
