All Lives Matter

Sometimes I look at the news and I feel like I'm living in another decade

With all these images of police of brutality

It's like the powers that be done lost all sense of morality

I thought the oath was to protect and serve

But if that's the goal then why is there another young black male lying dead on curve

Shot from the gun of one of the boys in blue

I thought the way it works is

That if you put your hands up

Then

They're not suppose to shoot

As a result now we got young black males taking sniper shots on the roof

Trying to kill anybody in blue

Black

White

It don't matter

But I thought God created us all in his own image

So

With that being said

Shouldn't all lives matter

I see all the commotion and I hear all the chatter

It seems like everyone done lost they damn mind

With trigger happy fingers ready to set it off at the drop of dime

That's word to Queen Latifah man

I say we all just calm the fuck down and smoke some reefa man

You see it's been a long hot summer

And I'm tired of hearing somebody mamma, screaming

"Why you shot my baby!?"

It just seems like this world done got so crazy

It seems like every week something tragic happens that it amazes me

Shooting up gay clubs and churches

To the crazy and insane I gotta ask ya

Was it all worth it

Just to get your point across

I say all lives matter

But on the real it seems like us black folks are living through a modern day holocaust

It's been a long hot summer
