When I was in the 8th grade, a boy in my class walked up to me and asked me for a pencil. He continued to do this once a week until we finished high school. We had become close friends and one day, I decided to ask him why he did so. He smiled and said to me "the answer lies in the pencil". I hurried back home and checked the pencil that he'd borrowed most recently. Neatly engraved on it was, 'I love you... but I'm too afraid to tell you that'. He had been leaving this message since the 8th grade. I couldn't help but smile.
A boy and a girl were part of the same team for their high school sport's competition. The girl had been crushing been crushing on him for a very long time, but was not sure how to tell him. In spite of that, she mustered some courage and casually said,
"Hey... you know what?"
Boy: "What?"
Girl: "You have the prettiest smile I have ever seen."
The boys eyes glittered and he replyed, "You know what?"
Girl: "What?"
Boy: "That smile only exists because of you!"
