"I'm home," Jimin yelled as he took his shoes off in the entryway of his home.
He handed Taehyung an extra pair of house slippers and couldn't help but smile at the boy.
"What are just standing there for? Come in," Jimin shook his head slightly as he grabbed Taehyung's hand, leading him through the archway that separated the entryway from the living room.
"Jimin, dinner's almost ready," a woman's voice yelled from the kitchen.
"Who is this?" the woman asked, exiting the kitchen.
"I'm Taehyung, Jimin's friend," Taehyung bowed slightly.
"Oh really. You're the first friend he's bought home," she gushed.
"It'll be a third plate at the table then. I hope you eat braised ribs," she said, the warm aura radiating around her gradually spreading through the house.
"Of course," Taehyung answered, sending the woman a small smile.
The boys made their way upstairs to Jimin's room.
"You're mom's nice," Taehyung said as he sat at Jimin's desk. He thought back to the small, middle aged woman that greeted him. She had jet black hair that hung just above her shoulders, and her eyes formed into crescents when she smiled, just like Jimin's.
"She's not my mom. She's my aunt," the boy went on as he sat at the foot of his bed, causing Taehyung to bod in response.
Taehyung studied Jimin's room. The walls were painted a deep shade of blue.
He had white christmas lights draped on the wall next to the wall that the door was built in.
Besides the random fake plant that stood alone in the corner, the wall was decorated with a plethora of polaroids under the lights.
"Is this you?" Taehyung asked smiling, like he didn't know the answer to the question.
"Yeah,"Jimin answered embarrassed as he walked beside Taehyung, looking at the picture of him when he was little.
The boy's former self peared into the camera lens, his small chubby hands reaching out to the person holding the camera shining a toothless smile, his small eyes forming into crescents.
"You're too cute," Taehyung cooed staring at the pictures.
Jimin rolled his eyes in response as he took a textbook from his bookshelf.
"Come. What's your grade in geography?" The boy asked sitting down on the rug in front of his bed.
"Its a 98," Taehyung answered sitting beside the boy.
"What?" Jimin looked up, his eyes wide.
Not even he has a 98 in geography.
"I'm not stupid, Jimin. Everyone just thinks I am," Taehyung answered scooting closer to Jimin.
"So what you're saying is you lied about being a dumbass," Jimin scoffed, turning towards Taehyung.
"I never said I was, 1. And 2, I would get good grades but cause I never get more than 5 questions wrong but all our teachers assume I'm cheating. So technically my grade is a 48," the boy went on examining his nails.
Jimin opened his mouth to say something then closed it again, deep in thought.
Jimin could only look at the boy, a small frown making its way on his face.
"What?" Taehyung asked. His long fingers made way to Jimin's left cheek to poke him.
"Why don't they believe in you?" Jimin asked seriously.
Taehyung was taken aback but simply shrugged.
"I guess because I fool around too much, I don't take things seriously," the boy began listing things down.
"Excuses are tools of the incompetence," Jimin said, smile at the other.
"Yeah. . .they are," Taehyung looked at the other, the corners of his lips turning up slightly.
