Chapter 6

Zach's POV

I smiled at Cam who was sitting across from me. I had already done that a lot today. Most of the time when I smiled at her, she had to smile back. Oh and that smile. I think I melt every time I see her smile.

"What are you smiling at Jace?" She asked me. On the inside I felt really sad. For a few minutes I had thought that it was Cammie and I. Not Maria and Jace. And it's all because I fell in the stupid girls trap. I cannot believe that Cameron would think that I would ever cheat on her. I mean after all that we have been through! She is the love my life, and a silly misunderstanding is not going to change that. I will fix this. I will.

"You." She blushed. "You're just so damn beautiful." We both stayed silent for a few minutes eat the small super that I had made for us. Us. . .

We had indeed gone shopping. At the one very, very small mall in this 'city'. If you can even call it that. But we found some things that we still needed. Such as food. And some appliances.

"Hey, Jace you never told me what Jonas said." She was right. I hadn't. I pulled my phone and the bullet from my pocket. Yes, I carried the bullet in my pocket.

"The two men that I shot were still there when the backup got there. The bullet doesn't match their gun so it must've been the third one who got away. And right now all we know about those two men is their names and that they went to Blackthorn. They have no criminal record, and they are too young to have been apart of the circle." I could see the wheels turning in her head.

"And the GPS?"

"The CIA chalked it up to a 'mistake'-"

"A mistake?! A damn mistake that led us right into a trap! I don't think so!" She sounded quite mad. I can't blame her. I'm pretty pissed too.

"But," I continued "Jonas and Liz are looking into it. They should know sometime soon." I glanced at Cam slightly surprised when I saw pain in her eyes. Then I remembered. "Maria! Why didn't you tell me." I scolded her as I carefully picked her up and walked her to our room.

I laid her down on our bed and rushed to the bathroom the get the First-Aid kit. I gently lifted up her shirt holding back a gasp. The bullet hole was worse then it was this morning. Obviously we had been moving around too much. Cammie must have been hiding the pain the whole day. Because there was no way she hadn't felt anything.

"Jace it hurts," She whined as I tried to clean the wound. "Jace!" She cried out in pain as I pressed my hand right on the wound. Her back arched and she hissed in pain.

"Shhhh," I said my voice low, steady and calm. The last thing I needed was her moving around as I tried to patch her up. "It's okay Gallagher Girl. Just breathe. In and out." I heard her suck in a breath and the she let out a low hiss. I knew that she was in a lot of pain but there was nothing I could do about it. I had to find a way to make in better. Not to fix the problem for a few minutes. "I'm sorry. This is going to hurt a lot Cammie. But it will be worth it. I promise."

------------

Finally it was over and I knew that Cammie was just as grateful as I was. It had hurt me to put her through that pain. We both slowly got changed into our pjs and fell onto the bed.

"Goodnight Jace," she whispered. Slowly, I wrapped my arms around her waist, pulling her against me. She sucked in a breath and for a moment I was worried that she was going to pull away. But she didn't.

"Goodnight Maria."

A little short considering I haven't updated in a long time. I was in Europe though and I wasn't allowed to have any electronics with me. So it was kind of hard to post. I just got back home! Hope you enjoyed this chapter!
