I wake up 2 a call, it's my manager Mona. "Warie, get up, you have an important audition to get to!!!" "Ok, I'll be down in about 15." I hang up and groan then I shower, get dressed, brushed my teeth and my hair then went down the elevator to meet Mona in the lobby. She sees me and comes to me, " Warie, cmon, let's go!!" We get in a taxi and ride to The Audubon for the audition, I'm nervous as I get a number and wait. As they call the numbers before I check my nerves, "319?" I step on the stage and the song Condition of the Heart plays and I dance, not knowing Prince is watching in a dark corner. As I finish, Mona snaps a picture of me,

"Thank you, 319." says the assistant director, I walk off stage and is greeted by excited murmurs and Mona, "That was great!!" she squeals, I smile and now we wait, 30 minutes later...tr c. c f. hey call us to the stage, "When I call your number, you will step forward." says assistant director I breathe nervously, as he st f f. Certainly a mystery but the question was arts calling. "99!" A blonde steps up, "220!" A short haired chocolate girl steps up, " 23!" She squeals and steps up, I wait watching. "52!" A dude steps up, "and....319!" I gasps softly and step up, "That is all, thank you all for you participation." The others leave, some angry, some crying, others mumbles things, "Alright, as for you, your parts in the film will be given to managers/ agents, congratulations!" They pack up as we leave the stage, "Warie!! I'm so proud of you!!, so would your folks!" "Thanx." We leave and eat then back to our hotel to sleep.

3a.m., my room phone rings and I groan and answers groggily,"Mmm, hello?" there's breathing, great I have a French stalker, I think to myself, as I was about to cuss them out, I hear humming and apparently the person isn't aware I answered so I say again, "Hello?" "Hi, sorry didn't mean 2 wake u." he says I smile, "Can't sleep huh?" "Ah, sleep is overrated." I laugh, "Says the man that doesn't sleep!" He laughs, "So, I had an audition for a part in a movie, your movie to be exact." I say proudly "Really, u made it right?" "Yeah, but I don't know what I will be doing, through." "U will find out soon, we haven't started anything yet, still getting the cast 2gether and locations." "Ok, cool." He shifts in bed and breathes, I giggle softly "What's so funny miss Giggles?" "You're bored aren't you?" "Yes, sadly." I decided to mess with him, "Too bad it's raining, we could have some fun." It's silent then he speaks "What kinda fun?" I play with my lip and say "If you were here I'd.. beat you with a pillow and throw popcorn at you." I giggle he laughs "Whatever, go back 2 sleep, goodnight." and he hangs up, I snicker then turn over and fall asleep.

The next morning, I go to the lobby, I see a couple cuddling at the bar as I head for the door, I go out and walk through the market square, its filled with flowers, fruits, clothing, jewelry and other stuff. Kids play and run around, I stop in front of the jewelry and admire this necklace with a jade bear,

it's beautiful, "Pretty isn't it but I'm sorry Madam but it has been purchased a few minutes before you got here." says the merchant I smile and nod then walk away to the fruit, I pick up a basket of strawberries, bananas, tangerines, cherries, peaches, and just as I was about to grab a plum, a hand reaches from behind me and grabs one and I hear " I bet this isn't as sweet as you, you probably tastes better." I gasp softly and turn to cuss this man out, I see this dark skinned fella smiling and I recognized him,"You know, you shouldn't say such things to ladies, you might get slapped!" he laughs and I smile "The name's Jerome and you are?" "I know who you are and I'm Wareka." I grab my plums and pay for everything and he walks with me,"So uh where you from?" "I'm from Louisiana." "Cool, southern girl, you from the bayou, you know, New Orleans?" he asks "Yes!" I say with a giggle we walk back to my hotel, "Well, this is my stop, nice chatting with you, Jerome, have a nice day, bye." "Same here, Wareka, bye." he spins then struts away, I giggle and shake my head and go inside.

Two days later, I get a call "You are to be at the Marymount Theatre at 9 a.m. tomorrow for the cast meeting, this is it, Warie!!" "Ok, I'm ready for this, thanks." I hung up and fell asleep after setting my alarm for 7. The next morning I'm awaken by my alarm, I shower then put on a nice shirt with black slacks and flats and put my hair in a business bun, suddenly there's a knock at my door and I answer it, its Mona. "This is exciting, you're about to find out what your role is in Prince's new film!!" I nod and grab my bag, "Cmon, we gotta get there, its a long ride!" We go to the taxi and ride there, we arrive at 8:45, pay the driver and go inside, the Marymount is very beautiful with statues and paintings and plush carpet.

We make our way to the auditorium, we sit in the audience with the others and their managers. Minutes later, these people came out then lastly was Prince and Jerome, they sit down on the stage, "Ok, let's begin, we are here to announce the role for the movie, Abigail Parks, you will be the complaining girlfriend at the party, Raphael Tousaint, you will be the fire blower, at the party, Amelia Cantu, you will be the little girl at the party running around and interacting with a little boy at the party, that boy will be.. William Jaspers. They cheer and murmur, all of you will be extras at the dinner scene, the last part requires two portions, Wareka Saladair, you will be a dancer and a waitress at the club where the main character, Christopher plays." We get our scripts and leave.
