He held out his hand for me to grab, it was a normal day, playing the normal way, outside in the sun and having fun.
"Hey Jake, I got you a cake, for your birthday".
"Cool dude, please tell me it's ice cream, if it's not, I'll kill you with it."
John threw the cake at Jake's face and ran away knowing that Jake really could kill him with that cake.
"John get your ass back here." John laughed like a maniac "You'll never catch me!!!".
John ran through the piles of trash in his way, whilst turning into a frickin ninja turtle, to get away from Jake. John ran a good half a mile from where he and Jake were at and laughed triumphantly.
"Jake will never catch me now".
Jake immediately regretted speaking so fast, as John caught up to him right after. Jake tackled him to the ground and smiled as he had John right were he wanted, pinned down underneath him. John then straddled Jake's waist whilst bringing his face closer to his, still pinning him down.
"You know it's useless to run from me John, I'll find you no matter what and I might just end you" Jake ran a his hand from John's face down to his chest, making sure to use his nails.
"Ewwwww Jake, don't use nail, I can literally feel the fungus growing in your fingers", John said making Jake growl at him.
"Please, you're the one who refuses to shower regularly" snapped Jake.
John only smiled back, then proceeded to kick Jake in his no no area, causing Jake to groan releasing him.
"JOHN YOU SON OF A BITCH" John sprinted away ignoring Jake's colorful commentary.
John ran far enough that when he looked around, he was in the middle of a farmers market, far away from the field he was just at. Maybe this time I can get away from him. "Far, far away", said no one in particular. Jake wondered around looking for the exit and to maybe find a cab so he could quickly put some distance between Jake and himself. He didn't know why but something felt off, like the playful mood just ran away. John chose to ignore as Jake would find a way to get to him and fast.
"Oh well, better leave now".
John finally found his way out of the market ventured into the nearby city, in hopes of finding a cab. One of the pay phones on the road ringed, him and 2 other people looked at it. He had a gut feeling he should answer it, so he did. John, knowing this might a trick, only listened so the person on the other side couldn't match his voice and get a lock on his location. He heard nothing, just breathing, really heavy breathing. "You fucker, where are you? We still have to go home" Jake panted.
John remained silent as Jake hung up the phone, sighing in relief. John sped walked to a corner and waved down a cab. "Get me out of this city" The diver simply nodded and drove never looking back. Immediately he forgot about the demand Jake gave him about going home, that was the last place he wanted to be. John stared out the window trying to clear his head and enjoy the scenery one last time. He was falling asleep by then, all that running exhausted him and if it weren't for that bump in the road he wouldn't have noticed that they were going in the opposite direction.
