I woke up to the early morning sun beaming through the window, looking over at the clock that read 5:03 I began getting out of bed and dressed for the day.

I made my way down the stairs and into the kitchen where gramps is pouring himself a cup of coffee.

"Mornin Cameron, how'd ya sleep?"

"Very well thank you" I smile stretching still waking up.

"Would you like a cup" heotions towards the pot of coffee.

I nodded, "So what's the day look like gramps?"

He brings the steaming mug over, "well all the ranch hands are on today, so I'm hopin to get those 200 head of cattle on the small pasture out to the larger northern pasture.

At around 6:00 I downed the rest of my coffee and made my way out to the stables. I meet my horse Karma, and get reacquainted with her before saddling her up for the day. Once saddled I walked out to where gramps is giving the days plans to the ranch hands.

"- and George will head over to the north pasture and check fences and will radio down to the rest of us with status, once clear we will round the 200 head from this here pasture," pointing towards the pasture to our left, "to the north pasture"

All the men nodded, all the men here have been trusted hands since I could remember basically family, so before we all set out we spent a short time catching up "I promise we can catch up at dinner tonight," I told everyone.

"Always work and no play till the end of the day huh Cam?" Laughed Hank the oldest ranch hand, i believe he is around 40 and I've known him for as long as I can remember.

"Just like seeing things done Hank," I smiled playing along with his fun.

As George and Hank get in a truck they drive out to check fences and gates, the rest of us get to bringing the feed out to the animals.

The radio on my belt had clicked and a fuzzy voice had emitted from it, "fences are good, we'll meet you at the pasture."

I rounded up the men and we mounted the horses and began our slow journey to the north pasture.

We had finally gotten the last of the heard in, there had only been a few stragglers making this a fairly easy move. I wiped the sweat from my forehead as we made our way back. Yeah the Texas heat is strong but I wouldn't have it any other way.

We made it back to the house around 4:30 where gramps had met us with the truck.

"Well that went smoother then expected, I think we can call it a day, y'all are welcome to stay for dinner and catch up with Cameron here seeing as she will be runnin the show here in a week or so.

We all sat out on the patio waiting for dinner gram insisting I stay out here ather than help her with making dinner.

"So our little Cam is finally stepping into the family shoes huh," Alex another ranch hand I had know for many years.

"I guess you can call it that," I laughed. "So there aren't any new guys huh, still the same great bunch of guys?"

They all laughed and looked over to gramps, "well Charlie here didn't want to make any hiring decisions, he is leaving that duty up to you,"

"Well I was noticing a few places during the drive that could have used another man or two," I told the men.

"I've got a few boys that were interested, but I'll leave that one up to you Cameron," gramps explained.

"Dinner" gram yelled from the doorway. All the men made their way into the large dining room.

"Oh this looks delicious Margarette," Gramps said as he hugged gram. I had  always appreciated their relationship. Still very much in love after all those years. I had always dreamed I would find a relationship that would be as strong as theirs.

Someday...

After all the men left gram and I had begun to clean up. "How do you and gramps stay so happy?"

"Well," she laughed, "we accepted each others lifestyles when we got married, and sort of built off of that, we aren't afraid to tell the other off," she continued.

"And here I thought it was because we are so madly in love," interrupted gramps from the other end of the kitchen with a huge smile on his face.

"Yes and more importantly we found the one person we truly love," agreed gram.

I watched as they hugged and just went about cleaning the kitchen together not talking but knowing the other was right there.

After awhile they had gone to bed and I decided to go up and sit out on the deck of my room. A little porch swing hung so I grabbed a blanket and laid out looking at the stars.

"Someday" I repeated out loud.
