Teejay Blackford

Today I had a interview at this company . Brand Ambassador Inc. It was owned by Jamonte Kingston . He owned this company , restaurants and a hotel . Yes I'm a drug cartel owner , but I'm also an educated woman . Graduated from UCLA top of my class . I'm trying to leave the drug game alone , I have enough money in the bank for me , and my future kids when I die . Im 24 years old , still young I wanna have a family of my own . Growing up I never knew what love was . That's a story for another time. I wanted to put my degrees in business management to use . I heard he was hiring for what my degree was in , which was brining more clients to the company and helping the business be successful . I'm hesitant about this interview because I have a record . When I say record , yes I mean jail record . After I graduated I was arrested for supposedly having drugs in my possession. I was walking to my car , and the cops pulled up and found drugs next to my car so the assumed it was mine . I served only 6 months .

I was half way to the company when Aubrey called me . "Hello wassup?" I said into the phone . "Wya ?" Aubrey said smacking on something . This hoe always eating something . "I'm on my way to this company for this interview , why ? Wassup." I pulled into the parking lot turning my car off . "Damn I forgot about that . What you working for ? Yo ass got enough money already . I called to tell you to come to my house when you done . Good luck hoe." Aubrey said before hanging up . I swear something wrong her , she want my ass to be a drug dealer forever .

Stepping out the elevator reality began kicking in. I was one of the biggest drug dealers in California . I considered myself a drug cartel. But here I was about to do a interview for a job that would be totally different than what I'm use to. Despite me being in jail a couple of times, my education spoke for it self. I graduated high school on time, and college being top in my class. Things were starting to finally look great for me. But soon as companies start looking at me record, they turned me away faster than they can spell "no"

"Hello Welcome to Brand Ambassador Inc. We are out of cleaning jobs unless you were called earlier today but that's only for tonight" a man with a very feminine tone said. I faked smile and swallowed hard. The old me would've probably snatched his ass up over that counter .

"Do I look like I'm about to do some cleaning" I asked looking down at my outfit. I had a white shirt, with a light pink skirt that matched my blazer. This cost me probably his whole pay check. There would've been no cleaning in this outfit. "Excuse me I didn't get your name?"

"I'm Steph" he smiled putting his hand out.

Shaking his hand, I gripped it tight, "I'm Teejay . Teejay Blackford . I'm here for a interview with Mr. Kingston" I smiled finally letting it go.

He rolled his eyes and I watched him disappear to the back. I looked around and admired the way the building looked . I hoped I got hired , I'll feel wanted working for a big company like this .

"He's ready to see you now" Steph said smiling. I nodded and followed him to the back. "Thank you" I said to him, i looked up to see a bearded man , who was a little bit lighter than me in skin tone , who stood about 6'5 smiling and holding his hand out. Shaking hands we smiled and sat down.

"So Um, Teejay or should I say Ms.Blackford. Looking at your education you are more than qualified for the position but-"

"You can call me Teejay , and my background? My record?"

He nodded and was about to speak again.

"Look I'm pretty sure when clients come in here they won't do a background check on me before they ask me to management their business . I was young, dumb and just doing anything and I served my time for it. Im ready to have a career in something I have a degree in" I spoke truthfully.
