Their Killer Secret

Have you ever noticed the things that some people ignore.  Those small details usually become the big detail that people seem to miss. I'm Ava Dimeshift and I am new to this school just like Nathan.

For this year there weren't many new students to come to this dumb school of mine. Only three new students came there that year. Me ,my brother and some kid named Nathan Nicholas. I never got the chance to with speak him since we were in different classes and he seemed to antisocial to go up and talk to people.

What made me so interested in him was how he acted. He acted so anti social but there was only one person out of the entire school that he talked to. Shira, a normal looking high scholar girl.

I was in his last class when he started talking to her. I ignored it but then when the bell rang and he ran after her. I didn't have time to do anything because I had band practice so I didn't think much of it.

The next day he was gone but Shira was there.  I knew something was up. I watched as Shira walked to her next class.

''Hey Ava why are you so obsessed with Nathan? I mean really he looks like he's straight out of a Tim Burton movie'' My brother Marcus said as he shut his locker. ''Shut up I'm not obsessed with him. Besides mind your own business Marcus'' I said as I lightly punched him in his right shoulder.

''Don't act like you don't like him. I know you like him. I read one of your diary entries while you were asleep. I'm worried about you. If you keep doing this weird shit then people are going to think your weird'' Marcus said as he started walking away.

How am I weird?! He's the one that's weird not me. I'm just looking out for Nathan because he's shy and weak.  It's not like I like him or anything. He only interested me that's all.

I went to class and sat at my desk. ''So are you still thinking about Nathan, Ava?'' My friend Rebecca said. ''No I'm thinking of finding out what happened to him'' I said as I turned to her.

Soon the bell rang and everyone went quite. I hid my phone in my jacket so they wouldn't take it.  ''Alright class looks like everyone is here, accept Nathan Nicholas who is absent today'' the teacher said as she marked his name out. ''Now class today were talking about the books we read for last night who would like to go first, how about you Miss Dimeshift? Would you care to talk about your story you read?''

I got out of my seat and stood in front of the class. ''The book I read was called Strange but human, I really want to be honest it was a terrible book. Characters didn't make sense heck they didn't act human even though they were. Also the ending. Don't get me started on how terrible it was. They just grow up and forget they have superpowers! So that's all I think about Strange but human''.

I sat back down and looked around at everyone who were frozen with confusion. ''Alright everyone well um let's move on'' The teacher said as she continued to pick people to present.

The bell rang but then the teacher walked over to me and sighed, ''Ava don't be rude when your talking. That's why I gave you a B+''.
