I looked like a princess.
I stared wide-eyed at myself in the full length mirror of my dressing room ready for my wedding. My brunette hair was curled and pinned up in a style as my make up was on the neutral side. It wasn't too bold.
My dress hugged my upper body like a second skin as the multiple layers of the skirt made it look huge as it flowed gracefully to the floor.
I was in love with my wedding dress. It was simply amazing. I just hope Eric loves it as much as I do. I knew he wouldn't mind pealing it off me. I giggled at the thought.
I've dreamt about this day since I was seven years old. My ideas of how I wanted my wedding changed over the years, but I was ecstatic at how it all turned out.
I was going to marry the love of my life today and I couldn't be happier. My face had a glow to it and I smiled brightly at myself in the mirror loving how my green eyes twinkled with delight.
"It looks kind of creepy how you're just staring at your reflection with that smile", a familiar voice came from behind me.
I chuckled sending my best friend as playful glare, "Well excuse me for being overjoyed on my special day", I shot back.
"I know, I know. Every girl's dream. I'm happy for you. That glow on your face fits you", he came closer to me pulling me into a hug, "You look beautiful".
I smiled against his chest, "Thanks, Calem. Glad you could make it", I pulled away.
"Of course I'd be at my best friend's wedding. Who else is supposed to threaten the groom? Your father doesn't seem like that kind of person, so I'd gladly take that role", Calem smirked.
I smacked his arm, "No threatening."
"I make no promises."
I rolled my eyes at him as my younger sister came into the room. Savannah was my maid of honor and dressed in a nude, knee-length dress.
She had a look on her face that I couldn't quite decipher. She's always been smiling so it was unnerving seeing that look on her face.
"Gen, can I talk to you for a minute?", she asked quietly.
"Excuse me, Ms. Steele. The limo is outside", our butler, Mr. Jones informed me.
"Thank you", I said then turned back to Savannah, "Can't this wait until after the wedding? I don't want to be late", I patted her on the arm and left the room.
Calem followed after me and helped me down the stairs and to the limo. He drove here so he went to his car. My mind was wandering all over the place.
As the mansion where my wedding was being held came into view my stomach started to churn. My excitement turned into nervousness in less that a second. I took deep breaths as the limo stopped and the driver opened the door helping me out.
There were a lot of people outside waiting for me. Paparazzi were snapping pictures nonstop and I walked towards my step-mother, Evelyn.
She hugged and kissed my cheek, "You're so beautiful", she said with teary eyes.
"Thanks, Mom", I held back a sob. Gosh, I hate when people cried because it made me cry too.
"Ten minutes to the wedding", I smiled.
Evelyn's smile dimmed a little, "He's not here yet, sweetheart", she said softly.
I then began to wonder 'what if something happened to him?' An hour passed and still no sign of him. People were getting frustrated and I was getting mad. I've been trying to call him nonstop but it just rang out.
