"Ba-annn... C'mere lil' buddy!" You cooed out into the woods, leaping from tree to tree. You remembered leaving him in the Fairy Forest, but it was nearly completely burned down. You saw suddenly saw Ban crouched over the body of a young maiden. She was severely burned and injured. You immediately rushed over to her side.
"Ban!" You yelled, rolling to his side. He seemed to be crying. You reached out to his shoulder, gingerly placing a hand onto it. He slapped it away and turned to you with extremely bloodshot eyes.
"Don't you see??! She's dead!" He snarled at you bitter sweetly, he clenched his jaw tightly and turned his head to her body. You held your hand for a moment, the sting still lingering from his touch. You felt tears go to your eyes as well. Ban started cradling her with his arms.
"Who was she to you..?" You whispered, bringing a hand to his back. He recoiled from your touch and hugged her even tighter.
"I loved her." His three words nearly broke down your floodgates, but luckily, they were extremely tough to break down since of how much you had been through.
"Oh Ban..." You sighed, rubbing his back. He kissed the young maiden and then turned to you, gently setting her down. He grabbed your wrist and pulled you hear him.
"Have you ever been in love?" He growled, tears still freely flowing from his eyes. And that's what broke the gates. The tears started slowly, but then gradually become the most amount you had ever cried.
"How dare you..." You hissed, flicking his hand again from your wrist. You stepped back. He had no idea of who you were in love with.
"How dare I what." He sneered, crossing his arms over his chest. This had become a battle on who would leave and return first.
"Ban... You have no idea what I have gone through. You've no idea the pain, the suffering, the loss, the emotions that I have suffered through." You managed to cough out, suddenly turned your eyes to look at him. This is the first time either of you saw each other cry, so it was hard not to cry harder.
"You're emotionless. You're cold. You're distant. What do you expect to think of you??!" He growled looking at you intensely. The tears came down harder, like the rain. It suddenly began to drizzle.
"You think that I'm all of those? Take a look in the mirror." You sniffled, glaring at his intensely and sadly. "What have I been to you, besides kind?"
There was a moment of silence. He seemed to ponder on the emotions you've shown him.
"You think that I've never been in love?? Go on, ask me!!" You shouted, the rain pouring down. His normally fluffy hair was sticking to his forehead.
"Have you ever-"
"I HAVE!! WITH YOU! AND YOU NEVER REALIZED. I AM GONE FOR 2 WEEKS, AND YOU FALL IN LOVE WITH THIS RANDOM CHILD. DO YOU REALIZE HOW ABSOLUTELY BROKEN MY HEART IS???!!" You shouted, the rain coming down like your tears.
"(Y/n)..." He mumbled, stepping closer to embrace your smaller figure. He managed to do it for a split second, before you pushed him away. That second was the one you had enjoyed most.
"I'm sorry, Ban... It's obvious that you don't want me in your life, at all. And I get it, most don't." You breathed out, wiping the tears away. Thunder and lightning clashed in the distance. You sighed. "Goodbye, Ban. See you in another life." You whispered, bitter sweetly kissing his cheek before dashing off.
"(Y/n)! Please... I think that I l-" He began, but you were already gone.
You left him standing there in the rain, reaching out towards you but not feeling anything. And the battle of the emotions, well, neither of had won.
