I walked down the hall of AshBurn High, everything looks absolutely perfect. The Cheerleaders happily giggling  about what they'd wear to  Homecoming, the sun shining through the windows,  the air smelled like a nice Autumn day. Which is exactly what today was, the sky was a pale but beautiful shade of blue, not a cloud in the sky and the trees decorated with a pallet of orange and burgundy leaves. Everything was just so perfect.
My beautiful Angel waited for me, leaning against my locker smiling when we locked eyes. I walked over to her planting a kiss on her big pink lips, she pulled away and smiled at me.

"Morning, Honey," she said beaming at me.

"Mornin-" a loud noise interrupted me, I turned and saw the school double doors swing open violently. I could feel the wonderful atmosphere instantly get replaced with dread.

A silhouette of a young girl standing in the doorway, from what I can see she has a huge wild fro of hair crowning her head, she was curvaceous with round hips and a nice butt.

She began strutting through the halls, people parted a walk way for her, staring and whispering as she went by.   When she reached the middle of the hall she paused for a minute, then she turned her head locking a piercing gaze with me.

I froze.

I could see her clearly now.  Wild black Afro around her head, big golden brown eyes, dark brown skin, plump lips formed into a smirk and a small scar on the right side of her jawline.

"Hi," Angel said. "Are you new here? What's your name?"

The girl let out a chuckle and locked eyes with Angel, almost in a threatening way. But her laugh, it was familiar and it was lovely... something that I'd like to hear alot more often.
The girl walked up to Angel, so close their noses we're almost touching.
What issue could this girl possibly have with my Angel? Everyone liked Angel, she was nicest girl in the whole town.
"No, Honey, I'm not new." The girl finally said, "I'm just returning home."
She locked eyes with me now and smiled a toothy smile, so beautiful. "Kingston, I'm back."
What? How does she know my name? I don't even know her, how does she know me?!
"What?" I asked. "We've met before?"
The girl let out her wonderful laugh, "Very funny, Kingston, that's enough jokes."
She looked deep into my eyes,he eyes were a mix of gold, green and brown, so familiar.
"Kingston...?" She said, ",You don't remember me?" She sounded as if she was going to cry but looked as if she was going to rip my head off. She looked over at Angel, who was staring at her feet.
The girl stormed off in anger, something compelled me to follow after her.
But I wasn't stupid, I knew that if I did that then Angel would be upset with me. But if I didn't then the girl would be upset with me...but why do I care about that girl?
I felt a hand grip my arm, I turned to see Angel glaring at me. It filled me with dread, I've never seen her look at me this way, her eyes flashed a bright red almost... Veins trailed from her eyes. She looked... ugly..almost demonic. I've never seen her look this way.
"Where are you going?" Her voice was dripping with venom. Then her eyes shifted back to baby blue when she saw my reaction to her face.
I didn't think the name Angel even fit her anymore, that was incredibly demonic...or was it all in my head? Did I just imagine my girlfriend turn into a demonic monster?
Everyone in the hall was staring at us, Angel noticed this too and rose both arms in the air, swaying them like palm trees in the breeze. A cold atmosphere had fallen over the school, everything was a dull grey color now and everyone was frozen except me and Angel.
"Angel, what's going on?" I finally asked. "How are you doing this?"
I heard that familiar lovely laugh from behind me.
"Did you just call her Angel?" I turned and met eyes with the new girl again. "Trust me sweetie, she is far from an Angel."
I noticed Angel's eyes turned red again.
"Why don't you tell him what you really are ?" The girl taunted Angel.
I couldn't help but notice how Angel never really spoke a word to the new girl, but she looked like she had alot to say.
"Do you two know each other?" I asked.
The girl let out a laugh and shook her head, her fro bounced with her head. "No, but you and I know each other."
We do?
"We do, Kingston." The girl said, it was almost as if she read my mind.
Angel dropped her arms and stormed off down the hall, the dull frozen atmosphere was gone and everyone was moving as if nothing just happened.
I turned in Angel's direction but she was gone, I turned back to the new girl but then she was gone too.
I was slapped on the back by a big hand, Tristan. "Yo, you going to homecoming right?"
"Y-you know it." I stammered.
"I saw u chatting with the new girl, see if she'll be interested in me for homecoming." Tristan said, he was pretty much the fuck boy of AshBurn and I wasn't sure if I wanted the new girl to be his homecoming date.
"Do you know her name?" I asked.
"Uh... something with a V... Veronica I think, maybe Victoria.. I don't remember dude." Tristan smacked my back again before walking away.
I don't want V to go with Tristan to Homecoming, I know what he does to girls and I don't want that to happen to her...but Angel...I'm taking Angel to Homecoming.
Angel and I have been dating for as long as I could remember, she's not into anniversaries so we don't have an anniversary date. She's met my parents, but I still haven't met hers. I just always feel like she's keeping secrets from me, I love her but...I don't know.

Through out the day I had seen V 4 times and now at lunch was 5.
I walked over to her table, she was sitting by herself eating a burger. I sat beside her but she didn't look up at me.
"Hey," I said after 10 minutes of silence.
"Hi Kingston," she smirked. "Where's your little demon princess?"
I sighed, Angel went home early, she said she wasn't feeling well.
"She was feeling ill, you say?" V said.
"I-I didn't say that out loud."
"Why is everyone looking at me? Like everyone in the whole school is looking at me like I'm some type of freak." She said.
"You don't exactly fit the AshBurn teen description. You aren't a perky, blondie with straight A's and a college picked for you at birth, you don't seem incredibly family oriented, or like the type to help plan the Ash Festival-"
"Clearly you don't know me, Kingston." V said looking at me with huge eyes that we're now a faint shade of lime green.
"Well, V, I'd like to get to know you." I told her.
She locked eyes with me for a little longer than looked away, out the window, meeting eyes with Angel who was standing right outside the school looking at me.
"Angel, what the hell?!" I don't think I've ever seen Angel act this way before, but I didn't like it at all.
I grabbed V by the hand and pulled her out of the cafeteria.
"Where are we going?" She asked.
I took her to the school basement, a small empty room, right next to the boiler room.
"This is the only place I can be alone." I told her.
"Um..okay." She said.
"V are you going to Homecoming?" I asked.
"Probably not, I don't think I'll be staying here very long."
Those words made my stomach drop to my ankles. "W-why?"
"I'm only here to get what I need, then I'll be on my way."
"What do you need?" I asked.
"You mean you don't know?"  She sounded almost hurt. "Are you serious? You mean that wasn't an act? You really don't know?!"
What was she talking about?
"My God, Kingston, what have they done to you?!" She began pacing back and forth. "Ugh! What the hell am I supposed to do now?! God fucking Dammit!" Her eyes flashed gold and she put her fist through the wall. "So you have no fucking clue what you are?"
"A human." I responded.
"Fuck! No you are not a fucking human. I mean like yeah you're half human but you are a fucking Warlock. Kingston, come on!" V seemed incredibly stressed out.
I reached out and held her in my arms, she stayed for a spilt second before pushing away.
"It's too hot for that shit! I have better things to worry about than hugs and kisses from Kingston Price! This is my life..our lives..." V calmed down and leaned against a wall. "Fuck my mother fucking life."
"A Warlock?" I asked. "Are you on drugs? Warlocks don't exist."
"They've wiped your fucking memories so don't sit here and play high and mighty when in reality you are fucking clueless and absolutely helpless to the Dubane." V was standing now, she was on her tip toes, eye to eye with me. "I would never lie to you, but if you want more answer then talk to your little Angel. I'm leaving." V bolted out the door and I didn't see her after that for the rest of the day.

When I got home I began to look up Warlocks and Witches and the thing V had called The Dubane.
I saw photographs of what seemed to be a family but they also could easily double as a Cult. There was at least 15 of them, their leader was a big black man with red eyes, right beside him stood  a woman that looked exactly like Angel. Her hair was longer, it was at her waist instead of shoulders. Her eyes were red and her face was pale, she looked almost lifeless, clothed in a long blue dress almost looking like a princess with that necklace she had always worn, she told me she got it from her mother but the man beside her had a matching one on...
I began to read about The Dubane, the leader was Marcos Dubane and his partner Evangeline Dubane.
Evangeline Dubane...
EvANGELine duBane...
Angel Bane...
I called Angel on the phone, she picked up on the first ring.
"Yes?" Her soft voice said.
"I-I need fucking answers, Angel. Right now! No more fucking lies!"
There was a long silence.
"Fucking answers! Now!" I said again.
"Alright Kingston, you want answers? I'll give you answers." She said.
