Love is unexpected

Take off

Haruka's POV

I woke up to the sound of my alarm, it was 7 am, and looked over at Azumi's bed. It was empty, all that was there was her baggage lying on her bed. She had finished packing last night. Her bag wasn't that big anyways. It was only a small bag filled with all her clothes and books. 

Yesterday, when we got home from practice I asked Azumi what she was gonna do with Momiji while we were gone. She just told me that she already sent Momiji off to a pet kennel. At first I thought that she would've brought Momiji with her on the trip, but turns out that she didn't 

I got up to get ready and finished packing. I remembered to pack all the new qinter clothes we had bought the week before, and my plane ticket. And a few outfits, when I finished, it was around 7:30 am I put my bag on my bed and looked at it. It was almost 4 times larger than Azumi's and was very lop-sided. I sighed and went out to the dining room for breakfast. 

I sat down next to Natsuki and Ren. I looked around the table to look for Azumi but she wasn't anywhere. Then I noticed that Ai wasn't there either. Ittoki and Ichinose came out with breakfast. It was beacon and eggs. There was also orange juice and some desert. Everyone seemed to be in a very happy mood and very loud. Ren and masato were talking about the hot springs and to which one they should go to. Ren suggested uni-sexual ones, and gave me a funny look. I blushed, and looked accross the table to see that Masato, Ittoki, Syo, and Ichinose blushing too. Natsuki was smiling brightly and thinkng of all the souvenirs that he is going to get. 

As I ate I saw Reiji and Ranmaru arguing about how noisy we were being. As breakfast started and ended, Ai and Azumi never came. Nobody else seemed to notice or bother to care that they weren't there.

After breakfast, Reiji reminded us all that we will be setting off in 2 hours, and that we should get ready.

"What about Azumi and Ai?" I asked him.

"Ahh...," Reiji said and paused for a long time.

"They'll find their way. They're probably just in the library or something. We can't go in there aanyways so if they aren't here when we leave then we'll just text them or something." Camus said all of a sudden.

"Do they spend that much time in there?" Ittoki asked him.

"Yeah, sometimes they spend over a day in there, maybe even two," Reiji answered," It's pretty normal around here."

Azumi's POV

I felt tired. Really tired. I didn't even know when I started to fall asleep. Tha's what I get for waking up in the middle of the night to continue reading my book. 

I woke up when Ai shook my a little. I have been sleeping on his shoulder for a while,"What time is it?"

"Half an hour until we leave." He answered me. 

"It's already 8:30?"

"You've been out for 5 hours," Ai said helping me up.

"That long? And yo've been here the whole time?"

"Yeah, I went out for a drink and saw you come here, so i came too."

"Oh. We should get going. The plane leaves at 9:30. We need to get there by nine, so we can check in early." Ai nodded and we left the library.

We went out, everyone was aleady loading into the tour bus to the airport. We grabbed our bags quickly and got on after them. We were all the way in the back with all the stuff, Ai even had to sit on someone's luggage. The ride to the airport was around 20 minutes so Ai and I were very squashed. When we finally got to the airport we got to check in early and go to our seats. And of course, they were first class. 

Ai's POV

The flight to Nagano took 5 hours. Everyone seemed to be normal and didn't seemed bothered, except Natsuki, he looked at he was about to barf.

Haruka and Syo were talking about the plan for when we get there. Ren and Masato were reading magazines, Ittoki was listening to music on his earphones, and Ichinose was sleeping soundlessly. Camus was polishing his weird staff, Reiji and Ranmaru were arguing about something, I didn't really pay attention. 

I sat next to Azumi at a window seat. It was really sunny so I made her sit on the outside, but it was getting colder and colder as we got cloder to Nagano. She was reading a book that she just bought a few weeks before. And I just sat there, looking out the window and occassionally looking over to Azumi. 

The only thing that flashed through my mind was the word love. I just don't get it. I know so many things and can understand so many things, but why can't i understand love? What's so hard that I don't get? I have an IQ of 268, how can I not understand a simple 4 letter word?

"Attention passengers, the plane will be landing in 5 minutes. Please fasten your seatbelt, and pack up all your belongings." Said the captain's voice. 

I looked away from the window. Everyone was putting all their stuff away, but Azumi was still reading her book. Her seatbelt was still unfastened. I didn't want to interrupt her from reading so I just reached over and fastened her seatbelt for her. 

After 5 minutes the plane began to land slowly. Then it landed with a loud thud. Azumi jumped in surprised, and I grabbed her. 

"What?" She asked in a surprised tone. 

Ranmaru rolled his eyes,"If you didn't have you nose stuck in that book, you'd know we just landed."

Reiji sushed him,"Ranmaru, don't be so mean."

"It's alright. We just landed." I explained. Azumi nodded and she put her book away. After that we all left the air plane.
