"Cari Elise Fletcher! Come give your brother a hug before you leave! I'm gonna miss you" Cari's brother Bobby shouted at her just as she was getting into her uber.
Cari turned around and a smile formed upon her lips when she saw her brother running towards her. She ran towards him. They met in a big bear hug.As soon as she realized that this was a goodbye hug and not just a regular hug she caught herself struggling to hold back her tears.
Cari hated goodbyes, she would always get so emotional that it felt like physical pain.
She could already feel a wave of emotions starting to form in her stomach like a bad stomachache.
It didn't take long before she started crying, even tho she had promised herself that she wouldn't cry.All these goodbyes made it harder for Cari to leave but she knew that she would have the best chances of a good music career in LA.
Cari was terrified for the first couple of months in LA, cause she didn't know anyone from there. Every time she thought about it, it would feel like someone punched all the air out of her. She would feel so vulnerable and didn't know what to do about that feeling. The only thing that kept her going was the fact that she knew her long time best friend Alex, would be moving to LA a couple of months after she had moved.
Alex wasn't able to move as soon as Cari was, which Cari was a bit upset about cause they used to do everything together.
A couple of weeks ago Alex and Cari had been looking at apartments in LA together. All of sudden Cari started crying.
"I really don't... I really don't wanna be alone..." She said whilst sobbing uncontrollably.
Alex had embraced her in a big hug and assured her that, that wouldn't be the case."If you feel alone just call me. And if a conversation over the phone isn't enough, I'll quit my job and move over there early" Alex said trying to comfort her crying friend.
Cause Alex would do anything for Cari, just like Cari would for Alex.A couple of days after that Alex went over to Fletcher's house to help her pack her stuff.
"Maybe you should try making some friends in LA before you leave? You know, so you at least have someone"
Alex said halfway through boxing all of Cari's clothes."Yeah maybe"
Cari nodded not looking at Alex."What's wrong Cari?" Alex asked worried.
She knew something was up, cause Cari would never just nod.
Cari stopped folding clothes and threw herself onto the bed."I just don't know anymore. Is this really what I want? You know, moving away from family and friends to a place where I know no one... I just don't know if I can do it.."
She answered starring at the ceiling."Like I said yesterday, I'm here for you whenever you need it. I honestly think that it's the right decision for you to move. Think of all the new experiences and people you'll meet"
Alex said again trying to comfort her friend.
"You're right I guess"
"Of course I'm right?? I'm Alex Papicio!"
Cari laughed at Alex, she was really gonna miss her so much the first couple of months.
The uber driver was starting to get impatient and Bobby noticed so he slowly loosened his embrace on his sister and said:
"Goodbye sis.Take care of yourself and put yourself first. Remember, we're not here for a long time. We're here for a good time."
