Its Cinco de Mayo. The sun is beating down on the water, and it creates a great summer day for those jet skiing on the water or swimming near the shore.
Today, Grayson's family and Donnie's brothers and father are joining together to discuss the current relationship between the two. On top of a rented boat off the shore, Gray, her mother, Amalia, and her father, Tomas, spoke to each other. Tomas wasn't behaving as he should. "I let these mutants come, didn't I? It doesn't mean I have to like this."
Grayson, who wore a bright yellow and breathable summer dress, chewed on her fingernails nervously. Her little baby bump was growing, too. Just enough to see the little guy or gal poking under her clothing. "Mama, do something..."
"Why are you being so difficult?" Amalia asked her stubborn husband.
Tomas spoke his reason. "Because as far as I'm concerned, these mutants are not her in-laws because she's not married! And if she's not married, she has no in-laws! So, why am I celebrating Cinco de Mayo with complete strangers?"
"They are only strangers because you won't talk to them!" Gray says to Tomas.
"Pues no les voy a hablar!" Tomas exclaimed like a child.
"Tomas," Amalia says sternly. "Either you act like the man I married, or tonight, you sleep with the dogs!" She pointed a finger at him. Then, the mother and daughter put their hands on their hips and nodded once to each other with a smirk.
Using the small set of stairs on the boat, the mother, father, and daughter walk down to the shaded area where Donnie and his family waited patiently. Tomas sits next to his wife. "I hope you have plenty of lotion on... this desert sun kicks off the water like a mirror."
Grayson stood next to Donnie, feeling his hand support her back.
"I think if we stay in the shade, we'll be fine." Mikey says, holding a chilled beer in his hand.
"Suit yourselves." Says Tomas, folding his hands in his lap. "I see you didn't bring your suits."
"Oh, yes, oh, yes." Leonardo said. "Well, we didn't exactly plan for this."
It's silent only for a short moment. Then, Raphael chuckled nervously as he said, "Jesus Christ, is it hot?!"
Tomas and Amalia's eyes widened once the Lord's name was said in vain. Amalia sighed deeply. Tomas decided to quickly break the silence. "Uh... Señor, I would like to tell you something. I don't believe these kids have a clue what they are getting themselves into." He says to Splinter, pointing at his daughter and her husband.
"I couldn't agree with you more, Tomas." He leaned forward in his chair.
"Really?"
"Absolutely. Marriage is a serious commitment."
Mikey is slurring his speech already. It looks like that cool beer is making its way to his head. "Well, I happen to think it's terribly romantic for my brother and his girl."
Leo spoke to him. "Mikey, you're not helping the situation."
"I have to agree with you, Splinter." Amalia says to him softly. "Men forget how foolish they were when they were chasing us."
Gray and Donnie smirk at that comment.
"This is different!" Tomas says. "They come from a different culture, different world, and damn! Different species! It's hard enough to make a marriage work without adding to it."
"Listen to the man, Donatello. He has a point." Leonardo said.
Don looks at his wife. "I think they're gonna talk about the big 'D' word soon..." Donnie says to Gray.
