The Baby Talk

For the past couple of days ,I've been dropping hints that I want a child. However , Ari just brushes it off and honestly it's making me feel like she doesn't want to start a family with me. So tonight when she gets home I am going to talk to her about this. I cannot sit here another day driving myself into insanity trying to figure why she hasn't said anything about it.

Three hours later...

Waking up from a nap I didn't know I took, I notice the blanket wrapped around me and my wife is eating her food. Getting up I walked over to her kissing her cheek, I seen that my plate wrapped up, still warm ready for me to eat. I smiled at her, swear I love my wife she's the best.

Thank you babe.

"Sleeping beauty has finally woken."

I mugged my wife as she clasp her hands when she said that.

I see you got jokes tonight.

"Just a little. How was your day babe?"

Good, work from home today. Got a lot of stuff done today but listen, babe I need to talk to you. Come here love.

She noticed that I was serious. Getting up Ari made her way towards me. Standing in front of me I grabbed her hands, causing her to look in my eyes.

"What is it babe? Is everything alright?"

Everything good Lady bug but I know you notice the baby books I've been leaving around the house. Babe I think it's time for us to have a child. We are ready to be parents, don't you think?

I  said to her putting my feelings all out there. From the lack of response I got from here I tried to read her facial expression but nothing. Just a blank expression.

"Amir a baby is something we cannot have right now. And that's that."

I did a double take back because who tf is she talking to like that? Shutting this conversation down, when I was nowhere done with. .

And what makes you think I don't want to talk about this? I feel like this is something that needs to be addressed! I said raising my voice a little while standing up. I didn't mean too but she hit a nerve. Getting up from my lap she look like she's ready to pop off herself.

"What you standing up like that for? You got some pressure you want to release or something? Bring it back to a three. There is nothing to talk about Amir. You want a baby, and I said no for now."

Why? We are suppose to communicating but all you're saying is no. What's the reason you don't want a baby right now?

"We haven't even been married for a full  year yet! Let alone our jobs will get in the way, and I love my career. I jus- we can't baby. Please just let it go."

She said as her voice broke down with a couple of tears running down her face. I never wanted to see my ladybug  cry, this is breaking my heart. I went up to her and wipe her tears and pulled her in  a hug. She was hesitant but surrender giving me a hug right back. I decided to drop the baby talk for now since I seen this was a sensitive topic. I felt like its more to the reason why she doesn't want to have kids right now and won't tell me. For now I'm  going to let the both us have some time to think about it. Then bring it up again and hopefully she would be ready to talk to me. Who knows, she might change her mind.

It's fine , sorry for yelling. We can drop it for now.

"I'm sorry for snapping too babe."

I hush her letting her know its all good, picking her up as she wrapped her legs around me. I carried her upstairs and put her on the side of the bed. I figure she wanted her space, so I was going to sleep in the guestroom, walking to our door I was about to leave before she called me.

"Wait where are you going?" She asked with so much innocence in her voice, stopping me in my tracks I turned around.

To the guest bedroom, Thought you might want some space.

"Just because we have a disagreement doesn't mean I don't want you here with me. I can't sleep without you, who else going to snuggle me? Or let me put my leg in between your legs, or me big spoonin-"

I laughed at my wife rambling on and on. Instead of saying get in the bed and hold her. She had an adorable pout on her face, throwing the pillow at me I dodge it.

"Stop laughing at me! You can say what you want but I know you like when I spoon you." Ari said crossing her arms across her chest. I took off my pants and shirt, getting in the bed I pulled her into my chest kissing her forehead.

Yes I do, next time say come hold you lady bug. Big daddy here, stop acting like a baby.

She snuggled right under me, getting comfortable she held onto me.

"You're so warm big daddy." I chuckled at the fact like she wasn't acting like she's a mob boss.

So are you Queen, you have a long day for you tomorrow. Get some rest.

"Ok good night babe".
