Meanwhile in present day Konoha...

"Susumu." Shikamaru called out, having not heard any noise come from the Hokage's office in quite some time.

He was met with no response, which was very unusual since Susumu was a loud kid. Muttering to himself, he went to open the door.

"I'm coming in." He stated, hoping to find the interior of the office still intact.

Shikamaru was pleasantly surprised when he found the office just as it was before Susumu barged in. Letting out a faint sigh of relief, he began heading out the door, but stopped in his tracks when he remembered something crucial.

Turning around, he slowly scanned the area.
He couldn't find Susumu anywhere. This could end badly on his part. He'd somehow managed to lose the only son of the Hokage. Naruto would be understandably upset, but Sasuke would murder him. Susumu was his parents pride and joy.

"Shikamaru." A voice said, coming from behind his back. Shikamaru didn't dare answer however , blocking out what was being said completely.

"Shikamaru!" The voice yelled again, grabbing his shoulders and spinning him around.

"What is it Naruto?" He asked, trying to look bored instead of worried.

"I asked if you've seen Susumu around here, Sasuke is getting worried." Naruto replied.

Shikamaru didn't want to stress Sasuke out, seeing as he was due any day now. He'd feel awful if something happened to the child because of him.

"Listen Naruto, you can't tell this to Sasuke until after he's safely delivered your child." Shikamaru answered, sounding far too serious for Naruto's liking.

"What happened?" Naruto said, his fists clenched, bracing for the worst.

"I don't know, he was here and now he's not." Shikamaru admitted, eyes cast on the ground. He didn't want to see the disappointment in Naruto's eyes.

"What do you mean you don't know!" Naruto practically screamed, his voice full of anger.
"Did you even bother to look for him?!" He exclaimed, not looking at Shikamaru.

"Of course I did!" Shikamaru retorted, his hurt voice ringing off the walls. "I view Susumu as my nephew, you know that!"

That caused Naruto to turn around. "I-I'm sorry, I didn't mean to lash out at you." Naruto apologized, guilt all over his face.

"It's fine, it's me who should be apologizing." Shikamaru said, a small frown on his face.

"What do I say to Sasuke though?" Naruto asked, looking troubled.

"Until we start searching for him, we can say he's at a friend's house." Shikamaru suggested.

"Good idea!" Naruto exclaimed. "Well I'm going to head home, meet me here first thing tomorrow morning to start the search."

"Got it." Shikamaru stated. "Goodnight Naruto."

"Night Shikamaru!" He replied before dashing off.

Jumping from rooftop to rooftop on the way home gave Naruto some time to think about his only son's disappearance. Susumu wasn't one to run off, he loved his papa and daddy. He was only eleven years old as well. He had no motive to leave the village. Especially not with the soon to come arrival of a new baby. Susumu was thrilled to meet his new baby brother or sister. Sasuke would be devastated if he were to find out that his precious baby boy was missing.

Forcing a smile, Naruto opened the door to the house that he and Sasuke shared.

"I'm home!" Naruto yelled out, a huge grin on his face.

"Be quiet, you're annoying the baby." Sasuke chided, cradling his swollen belly. Smiling, he greeted Naruto with a kiss. However his smile soon turned into a frown when he noticed Susumu wasn't standing beside Naruto.

"Where is Susumu?" He questioned, looking Naruto square in the eyes.

"He's at Nomi's house, Kiba said he found them passed out after hours of training." Naruto lied smoothly. "He offered to let Susumu sleep at their house for the night, I accepted and thanked him properly."

"Are you sure that Shino and Kiba don't mind?" Sasuke asked tensely, rubbing circles into his heavily pregnant belly.

"Calm down, they said it was no problem." Naruto reassured, placing his hands on Sasuke's rounded belly. "Sakura said that stress wasn't good for the baby, so please don't worry."

"I'm completely calm." Sasuke stated, placing his hands on top of Naruto's. "Ow, that one hurt."

Eyes wide, Naruto grinned. "Let me feel! Let me feel!" He chirped, excitement evident in his voice.

Sasuke directed Naruto's hand to where the kicks were coming from. He smiled when he saw the awe in his husband's blue eyes.

"The baby sure is strong!" Naruto happily exclaimed, hands still resting on Sasuke's belly.

"I'm aware, I'm the one who's carrying it." Sasuke deadpanned, sighing at the obvious.

"Oh yeah, that's true." Naruto said sheepishly, smiling at Sasuke.

Returning the smile, Sasuke attempted to stifle a yawn. The last few months of pregnancy had definitely taken a toll on him. It wasn't easy growing another human being!

"C'mon let's go to bed." Naruto suggested, having seen his husband's attempt to cover up a yawn.

"Carry me, I don't wanna walk." Sasuke childishly replied, a pout on his face.

Grinning, Naruto scooped up his husband and headed towards their bedroom.

Heyo it's the author here to answer some questions! Naruto carried and delivered Susumu, but suffered complications that disabled him to have any more children. He and Sasuke wanted to have at least two kids, so the news devastated them. Sasuke offered to carry, so when Susumu was six they had their second child. All was well until the baby was taken away by Orochimaru. Susumu tried desperately to fight off Orochimaru, but failed. This caused him to awaken his Sharingan. Sasuke was too devastated to try again, but eventually did so when Susumu was eleven.
