SO, WHAT'S YOUR STORY
STACEY: I'll tell you about when I became a soror.
OKAY
"How.. Bad.. Do.. You.. Want To.. Be In.. Gamma NU?" The ACE of the chapter asked.
"Gamma Nuuuuuu". All the older sisters chanted.
"So bad!" One girl next to me answered the head sister.
"Please!" Another girl by me said.
"Well!" The Head Sister flipped her hair. "Beg the Big Sisters!"
An eruption of pleading took place. You should've seen them crawling on their knees.
(Interviewer) EVERYONE?
(Stacey) Everyone except me.
They looked like babies crawling on the floor. I didn't know why they were begging and pleading. It was just a sorority to me. My mom was in it when she was in college. So, I would be in it too.
"Oh please big sister!" One girl had snot draining down her face. "I want to be G.N so bad!" She cried at big sister's feet.
"You said wanna be what?" The Head Sister walked to her grabbing her chin.
"GAMMA NUUUUUU." All the Big Sisters responded before the girl could answer her.
The Head Sister blindfolded her. "Take this one." Trina said. Trina was the Head Sister but we couldn't call them by their actual names at the time.
"Gladly!" One of the Big Sisters took her away from Trina and hid her from the rest of us.
THEY CALLED THE GIRLS THAT WANTED TO BE IN THE SORORITY LITTLE SISTERS.
My Little Sisters were terrified.
Trina blindfolded another girl. "Here's anotha!" She said with sass.
"Send her to me!" A big sister laughed as the girl began to cry.
"Y'all some bitches." I thought to myself. "Scary ass hoes."
The blind folding process went on and on until there were only three Little Sisters left.
WERE YOU AFRAID?
HELL NO
My mother had told me they wouldn't do anything to me.
"What? " The Head Sister got in my face. "You too good to beg?"
"No.." I responded.
'I know you aren't talking to ACE like that!" A big sister came behind me.
THE BIG SISTERS CALLED THE HEAD SISTER ACE. ACE STOOD FOR NUMBER ONE. SHE WAS THE LEADER OF THE CHAPTER, AND HEAD OF THE LINE.
I didn't know I wasn't supposed to talk to her.
"It's okay." Trina leaned up. "Y'all gone learn today." I could hear my Little Sisters screaming, but I didn't know where they were.
"Ew. " Trina said to the girl to the right of me. "Who want her?"
"Not me!" One Big Sister said.
