First day of school and Dan already got the attention from every person in here. I hated to admit it, but he was flawless -- aside from his personality.
He was smart -- the teachers were astonished by him -- and not to mention, his looks were beyond of a human good looks standard. I wouldn't be surprised if he was also athletic.
The world is so unfair.
"Lyra, your fries are drowning," Megan pointed out, snapping me out of my trance. I looked to my food and surely the ketchup was overload. I groaned and tried to save the edible ones.
"Ugh, everytime I think of him, I murder food," I mumbled while wiping the ketchup that stained the table.
"Him?" Megan repeated, perking in interest as she smirked. "Is it Kyle or another guy?"
"A jerk."
"So it's another guy," she concluded. "Who is it? Is it Greg?"
I looked at her weirdly, "Who the hell is Greg?"
"The guy that stained your skirt with red paint in art class," she answered, reminding me of an annoying past incident. "Come on, you know that guy did it on accident."
"Don't remind me," I said as I rolled my eyes.
"Hey, guys," Jaz greeted as she arrived at our table with her food. She put down her food and sat next to me. I eyed her untouched fries hungrily as I made up a plan to steal them.
"So," Megan started, "that new guy is hot, huh?"
"Yeah, he'll be hot in hell," I whispered, then snickered as the thought of him burnt in hell amused me.
Megan raised an eyebrow at me confusedly, until something came up to her and she got that "Oh, I get it!" look on her face. "The jerk is the new guy?" She guessed.
"One and only," I replied bitterly.
"So what did he do to twist your panties in a bunch?" She asked jokingly. I glared at her but then sighed, taking a bite of my fries. "What? Is it that bad?"
I didn't really want to answer so Jaz did it for me. She nodded and said, "Bad enough to make Lyra killed her food."
Megan whistled lowly and took a glimpse at me. "What happened?"
"You know those hot rude fictional rich guys that has a rotten mouth?" Jaz asked, pointing a fry at Megan.
"Yeah?"
"He's one of them." Then Jaz ate the fry.
Megan gasped like in those dramas and exclaimed, "He's fictional?"
"Why'd you get the wrong point!" I yelled rather shockingly at her reaction, almost crushing the fry with my fingers.
"Relax, I was just joking," Megan mused, giggling. "Well, from his looks, he does look arrogant."
Responding to her comment, I stretched my arms outward and had a grateful expression on my face. "Finally, someone notices!"
"But he's hot, smart, and athletic, so that covers up his personality."
"No!" I disagreed, accidentally ate the ketchup-drowned fries. Wincing, I drank and let out a breath. "What matters is on the inside." Fridge included.
"That's right!" Jaz agreed.
Megan opened her mouth to say something, but a loud clattering noise distracted and we turned our attentions to the source.
