Luna made way to her ship. It was within a hidden chamber built into the ground itself. Her parents had chosen the spot carefully, a waterfall blocking the gap. You couldn't see or even find the entrance from outside, around the hill upon which her home sat.
Her home, which was under attack. There was no warning because their communication power had been shut down. Perhaps someone from within had betrayed them, had brought down the force field to let the enemy in.
But her home planet was being overrun already. She had heard the screams of battle not only 30 minutes ago. Her parents and brother suited up and went to the city, giving her orders to flee. It was an order she wanted to disobey. But she didn't.
Instead, she took what was supposed to be the secret tunnels to where her family kept their ships. On the way she encountered men in outfits of black, a silver mask covering their faces. Their weapons were ray guns and they took every opportunity to take Luna down. But she blocked off the blasts with one of her powers: ice. Many of them went down by her hand blasting out balls of fire or electricity.
There were so many of them. Too many it seemed for just a random attack. Or perhaps it wasn't random since they seemed to know where to attack. Still, they went down one by one.
Luna finally reached the hanger. It appeared clear of unwanted people which meant it could be a trap. Quiet. It was too quiet.
Holding up her left arm she pushed the top button on her arm band. A hologram of herself appeared, looking extremely real. With her mind she forced the hologram to act as if it was being very cautious while sneaking to her ship. Not even halfway there and gunfire came from almost every direction. The hologram was very convincing as it landed onto the ground, red coming out of its body where the rays had hit.
Luna pushed a button on the thin waistband around her hips.
As soon as the force field covered her body she flew to her ship. Opening the cockpit with the button from the armband on her right she got in and closed the top. Praying it would turn on she hit the red power button. Once the aircraft was hovering she turned it around and fired the built in blast guns. The other ships burst with flame as the entire hanger ignited.
Doing a 180 she hit the accelerator and blasted through the waterfall.
Her heart sank. The air was a red color too close to that of blood. The Star, the source of light in her galaxy, it appeared had been blocked by an enormous ship. The enemy ship no doubt.
A blast from the city caught her attention. She looked back to see her home being consumed with flames, the air filling with a thick black smoke.
All around her was battle, both on ground and in the air. Many rays from guns blinked like flashing lights on the ground. Army ships from both sides flew into the air, some of each blasting to bits here and there.
The enemy was winning.
And Luna had been ordered to flee. But she couldn't stand by and do nothing. She would flee but first, a detour.
She steered her ship toward the one that was blocking out the light from the Star. From here it didn't appear that large. A few enemy ships tried to take her down but she blasted them to pieces, doing 360's or 180's or zigzags or spins or a summersault. Thankfully she was skilled with flying a ship.
Getting past the line of firing ships she had a clear path to the mother ship. Her eyes widened with its size as she got closer. It almost appeared to be the size of a small moon. Its exterior was all black with visible hangers or hulls.
There had to be a way to get to the main power from the outside.
Letting off the accelerator just a little she scanned it with the front scanner. The layout came up on the screen behind the steering handles.
