••seven o'clock, just an ordinary day. I wonder around the village, as I felt a few droplets trickle down my dirty face. I looked up at the rain falling down, as the evening was creeping in. I could feel the cobble stones under my feet as I ran/dance through the village, singing "you'll never walk alone". As I reached home, I could see my mother giving out to my brother, I wonder what he done? When I came up to the gate, I saw the grass flinch, I saw a little head peeking through the hole. I opened the gate, the same old creaking sound as I opened the gate, father was meant to fix it, as he says but never did.
I went in and washed my dirty feet in the bucket, I just sat there watching the water turn from clear to black. Mother was muttering about john, because he got no food, no one was giving out. They always slam the door in our faces or don't bother opening it at all.
Mother was yelling at me, I didn't put up the black out blinds, her voice was becoming distance, as my vision was going black and blurry. My tummy growling fiercely. I felt a sharp pain shooting through my body, I don't remember anything after that.
I fluttered my eyes open, trying to adjust to the bright light. Mother came in rushin me out the door because is be late for school, it's so boring all we do is talk about the war, that's happening down north. I darted through the village, through the farm for a short-cut. When I arrived I went another way. I don't want to go to school as I panted. I walked towards an empty cafe that had closed down due to the owner, who had
An hearts track. I went under the counter and fell asleep for a few hours.
When I woke up by a banging noise, I never heard it before. I sat there confused. It got louder and louder, then stopped. I sat there for a while, until I worked up the courage to peek over the counter.
Shock filled my eyes, I couldn't believe what I was seeing..
I sat bac down, curled up into a little ball. Thoughts flooded my mind, as I sat in shock.
I heard voices, getting closer and closer. I closed the cupboard, hoping I wouldn't be seen. I kept hearing loud smashing of things, I could see the two soldiers looking around laughing and pulling a man out of the kitchen,
"Should we kill him?" Laughed one guy. "No! We have to bring him to the captain .." Shouted the other guy. " chill mate. He's going to die anyways." A shot rang out, leaving a ringing noise in my ears. I just witnessed a scene. I thought I'd need see in my life-time.
A few hours went by. I heard a loud banging an the ground trembled as the roof gave in and everything fell. I groaned out in pain as a brick had fallen on my leg. I struggled to push is off, but eventually I got it. I hobbled out, looking around, the place was destroyed, flattened. I stood there staring in shock, until a voice startled me and I sprung around seeing a young chap. In a uniform one my dad used to wear.
He took me to safety. To a family who cleaned me, fixed my foot and fed me. It took a while for me to recover from war. That took a while, but life got better for me as the years went on.
