Chapter Twenty-Four~

As I head downstairs, I get a text. It was from Josh's phone. I sat down on a step and started to read. I gasped and started to cry. He said that he wanted to brake up because, I wasn't good enough for him. Then, I heard a knock on the door.

"Are you gonna get it sweetie?" My grandma called from down the hall. Wiping my tears I replied,

"No! Just- don't- even let him near me." My grandma walked toward the door and looked at me. My makeup smearing down my face. As she opened the door, I hid behind the wall next to the door and listened.

"Hi--." He got cut off by my grandmother.

"What kind of slob do you think you are? My granddaughter is way better than this! I can't even believe this!" She went on.

"Can I please speak to her? I have no idea what you are talking about.." Josh said. My grandma pushed him out of the way as she stormed off into the kitchen. "Madison I..."

"Don't Madison I me! I saw your text okay? Were through! I can't believe that you would do this to me! Just- just leave." I screamed as I slammed the door in his face. I took a deep breath ad reopened the door. "One more thing..." I started.

"Madison.."

"Do you even know what happened to my dad a couple of years ago?"

"No.."

"He died. In a lake. And I almost drowned to death. The girl that saved me and tried to save my dad's name was Lynn. And that's my middle name." Tears started streaming down my face. "I think you should go now." He gave me a kiss on the cheek.

"I'll go but, I have no idea what you mean. And I would never lie to you." He replied as he shut the door behind him. I looked up at the ceiling and closed my eyes. Why was he acting so 'innocent' all of a sudden? I ran to the couch and cuddled up into a blanket. Why would he be so mean but, so nice? I need to figure this out. Was he the actual person who sent the message? And if he was why?
