Chapter 8 - The Surprise

Zayn's POV

We arrived in Parkinsons Mall and the entire place is packed with fans. I guess they didn't let them in yet.

We slowly exited the van with Paul opening the door.

" O MY LAWD ! ITS ONE DIRECTION !" three or five fans clamoured.

All of the girls were going mental. I could see a group of girls crying while waving a huge banner that says; ONE DIRECTION IS OUR INSPIRATION !

We entered the mall with tons of security guards giving us a way. The owner was there in the enterance waiting to welcome us.

Wow the mall was like a ghost town. There were no customers at all. Only the salesladies and gents.

I saw the One Direction Store and I made a run for it. I could see our dolls, T-shirts with our faces printed on them, our 'Up All Night Album' and many more.

"What time are the fans getting in?" Paul asked the manager/owner of the mall.

"In about 5 minutes. They're just letting in normal customers whom don't want to see One Direction." the manager replied.

There was a table with a white cloth covering it. There was also a huge poster of our album cover as the backdrop.

We settled into our seats and start waiting for the fans to get in.

"Here are some Sharpie markers lads. If they run out of ink, tell us immediatly. We don't want the fans to be disappointed," Paul said, offering us a dozens of Sharpies.

I started tapping the marker against the table when a couple of girls passed by the store without noticing us at all.

"Hey Zayn. Aren't those Gabby's friends?" Niall said.

"How come they're not having any merchandise signed by us?" Harry whined.

I stood up and catched up with Gabby's friends.

"Where's Gabby?" I asked, and I could see disgust in their eyes. I was expecting them to squeal or something.

"You broke our best friend's heart." Gabby's friends rolled their eyes.

"I want to explain everything but we have a sigining in the 1D store overthere." I replied. "How come you're not going?"

"Our purpose here is not to see the heart breaker. We're here to buy Gabby's favorite churro. It calms her down." another friend answered.

I was impressed. My mum used to bake churros for me when I was a wee lad. "Alright then. Meet us at the parking lot at the back and I'll explain eveything." I said.

They nodded their heads, crossed their arms and went on to find Gabby's churro.

I ran back to the store and get back to my seat.

"Where have you been, Zayn Malik?" Paul said in a mad tone.

"I was there ... you know... talking... to my friends.. there.." I replied stuttering.

"What happened Zayn?" Louis asked.

"I'll answer that later Lou. The fans are coming." I said as the loud screams started to get louder.

"Why are there girls next to our van?" Liam asked, pointing to Gabby's friends.

"Those are Gabby's friends. I want to explain everything about the text message thing." I answered.

The lads gave me a quick introduction to Gabby's friends before we approached them.

"Explain quick Malik. Gabby's churro is getting cold." GG complained.

Boo Ya ! I finally know their names.

"I asked her on a date because I really liked her. I cancelled it because of the signing......". I explained everything from the message to what I'm feeling.

After my explanation the way they looked at me started to loosen up.

"She didn't receive your sorry message because she threw her phone somewhere." Andrea said. "She doesn't know where it landed but she doesn't care too."

"What are you gonna do Zayn?" Louis asked.

"You could—" Louis tried to suggest.

"No more suggestions from you Lou." I repremanded.

"Maybe we could visit Gabby." Niall suggested. "But we can't 'cause Paul won't—"

LIGHT BULB !

"That's a great idea Niall." I said and he shrugged.

"You know where I can find Gabby girl?" I asked her friends.

"She's at my house. Just follow our car over there." Bianca replied, pointing to her car that looked like her car.

"That's your car?" Harry asked stuttering. I could tell he was amazed with the whole limo thing.

"Sure, we'll follow you." I said, going in the van and the lads following.

"Your house is huge." Liam said, trying to look around.

"You haven't seen her backyard." Francheska said, opening the door.

"Where's Gabby?" I asked impatiently.

"She's at the back patio. Don't scare her. She hates guys who scare her." Carissa said, pointing to the arch that leads to the patio.

"Come on guys, we have tons of food in the kitchen." Andrea said.

"FOOD !" Bianca and Niall said simultaneously.

I tiptoed to the back patio and there she was.

She was sitting at the edge of the wishing well with tears in her eyes. She was wearing pink pajamas with matching bunny slippers. How adorable.

I felt so sad for her. I can't believe I broke her heart through texting. That's like the worst.

"GABBY!" I called in a calm tone.

She looked back and seemed surprised seeing me in her presence.
