Every step he took resulted in two counter side steps from me. We picked up this slow rhythm of circling around the open space of my bedroom; predator vs prey. His eyes swirling a murky brown color. Though this whole ordeal was something straight out of a horror film, it was just the sheer calmness he was showing that really terrified me.His rough hands outreached beckoning me over slowly. His teeth baring at me when I didn't move an inch from this spot. A burning sensation began in the spaces between where my shoulders met my neck, becoming more and more unbearable the closer he etched towards me.
My mind slowly came to terms with the fact that this pain was too much for me to handle. Wild curls matted tightly to the sides of my face soaked in a substance I didn't even want to acknowledge. The feeling of wanting to vomit shook my whole body but my throat was closing in with every shallow breath taken.
A deep growl escaped from his chest, shaking the whole room. My body wanted to involuntarily curl into a ball once the sound registered to me. I had seen him like this a few times before but never directed to me. He was an angry man, when he was like this there was no reasoning.
His hands smeared away the liquid that coated my face and a light smile plastered onto his. His teeth were too sharp, and the way he ran the tip of his tongue over them to get rid of dark red taint latched onto his fangs caused me to gag slightly. A small growl rose from his chest as his body shook with pleasure.
"Beautiful."
Practically flinging myself into the wall behind us. My eyes scanned the room for escape. Making a dotty judgment, I sprinted to the bathroom a few feet away from us and locked the door without hesitation. Loud bangs shook the door on its hinges as I backed away from it, my shallow breaths coming out more rigid.
"No no no no, this can't be happening." I said my heart thumping speedily. I began to hyperventilate when I realized my powers weren't working.
The banging on the door only got louder. His hard steps pacing the width of the door. It wouldn't be long before he kicked it down, I was confident.
Fight or flight set in and I wiped the sweat dripping down my face away from my eyes. Frantically, I skimmed the room trying to formulate any sort of plan that didn't invlove my abilities. My attention focused on the bathroom cabinets under the sink remembering I kept fabric shears underneath. They wouldn't do much, but they might give me time.
"Just open door." He said quietly but loud enough for me to hear it. I could tell hear the sincerity in his voice.
"Please?" My heart was hammering out of my chest now. He sounded so sweet, not like the monster I was just facing.
A loud bang snapped me back into reality. This wasn't a petty argument between a couple. This was a vampire trying to claim me. The banging only got louder and stronger as the seconds ticked by.
My pace quickened in my search for the scissors as I realized how silent the other said of the door had gotten. A small amount of relief took over me when I finally found them, that is, until my eyes focused on my appearance in the bathroom mirror. The sight was mortifying and if I didn't feel this pain I would have thought this was just a nightmare.
