By this point in time Naomi had been living with Cassidy for a solid two weeks and she had enjoyed both her and her mother's company and kindness very much. Even though Naomi spent a lot of time with Cassidy outside of school, she didn't talk to Cassidy all that much during the school besides basketball practice because she didn't know her friend group all that well. This resulted in Naomi talking to literally no one during the school day during any of her classes, in between classes, or at lunch, due to the fact that all the friends she had before her and Gina broke up automatically took Gina's side and began to completely ignore her. "I don't need them," she thought to herself every time she walked past Gina's multiple different friend groups whom laughed at her. Logan still even snapped Naomi from time to time to send her a picture of the two of them together just to make her jealous. Most of the captions would say things like "Haha told you I'd steal your girl" and "Take an L." Even when this happened Naomi still told herself that she didn't need Gina in her life, but the problem is she sort of did. As sad as it is Naomi couldn't even really blame Gina for cheating on her. Logan did have it all, besides from his horrible personality of course. He had the cute white boy thing that every girl in the school seemed to desire, he was good at sports, his body was equipped with muscles and a six pack that he was never too shy to share on his Snapchat and his instagram, and top of that he also had a 4.0 GPA that he flexed on Instagram and Snapchat by showing off his grades weekly, and plenty of friends. Naomi realized she couldn't compete with him. She was a few pounds overweight, (at least according to the kids at her school,) her grades started to slip ever since her mom kicked her out, and she obviously didn't have a lot of friends anymore, and wasn't seen as attractive to the majority of the student body. What did Logan not have that she didn't? All these thoughts raced through her mind while she was eating a breakthrough of chicken noodle soup from Panera bread by her lonesome until Cassidy noticed she was alone and decided to walk over. "Hey why are you sitting by yourself, why aren't you with your usual group of friends?" She asked. "Well ever since the whole Gina thing happened, their not really my friends anymore." Naomi explained, slightly embarrassed. "Do you want to sit by me and my friends," Cassidy asked. Naomi contemplated this decision in her head for a few moments. On the one hand the same thing that happened with her other friend group could happen again. But on the other hand, Cassidy was a very sweet girl and her friends couldn't possibly be that bad based off of the way that she acts. "Sure, thanks for inviting me." Naomi said. She decided that maybe not every girl in the school was completely phony, and that maybe, just maybe it might be nice to have a few friends to talk to during the school day. When she sat down at the table all of the girls welcomed her with open arms and introduced themselves. "Hi, my name is Lilly-Ann, and it's very nice to meet you," a girl with long blond hair, glasses and a very upbeat optimistic personality. "My name is Tara," said a Kardashian looking girl with dark brown hair, brown eyes, face best with make up and a short black dress. "My name is Elizabeth," a girl with light brownish blondish hair who looked like she could be anywhere from fourteen to twenty two years old. "It's nice to meet you all," Naomi said once they were all completely finished introducing themselves. "Right back at you" Tara said in response, and Lilly-Ann and Elizabeth nodded in agreement with giant smiles on their faces. Once the whole introducing themselves thing was over, the girls started to ask Naomi questions to get to know her. "What's your favorite color," Lilly-Ann asked. "My favorite color is black," Naomi said with a glimmer in her eyes. She loves the color black. It soothed her soul, and even the sight of it could make her smile a little. "Lilly you gotta ask the important questions first. Like whose your favorite Kardashian," Tara asked in complete seriousness. "I despise all of them," Naomi said not missing one beat. Tara's mouth dropped open. Elizabeth rolled her eyes and chuckled, "It's cool Naomi, I do too. Their so annoying. They don't even have real jobs or talent," Elizabeth said. "Right, somebody finally gets me," Naomi said, grateful that she wasn't the only one at the table who disliked the Kardashians. The girls began to talk amongst themselves until the end of the lunch period. Naomi decided that maybe not everyone in the school is phony after all and maybe she would have some true friends at this school. Even if she was the only black girl in the friend group.
