"Grace, Grace can you hear me honey?" A soft comforting voice whispered in my ear; I wanted so badly to open my eyes but for some reason it felt as if they had been glued shut. My head ached, there was a buzzing sound I couldn't shake and the sound of a rushing wave of people, everywhere. I felt surrounded and I couldn't piece together what was happening. I couldn't turn my head or even open my mouth, I was screaming out to them but at the same time nothing was coming out.
My body was in agony from the waist down, a throbbing sensation, only I had no clue why or what had happened. It felt like years before I was able to indicate life within my comatose body beyond the machines keeping my heart beating and blood pumping. I was finally able to move my fingers in hope to show someone that I was able to hear them.
"Jake darling! Look, she's waking up!" I heard a breath of relief come from my mother, speaking to my father. I felt relief flood my body and it eased the pain to know that I wasn't trapped in what seemed to be a cold and empty room, laying on what felt like a concrete floor, alone. Like that night..I'm laying down and I feel the coldness of the floor rushing through my body, everything is blurry and the room is spinning, where are my clothes?
