A Dog Is Man's Bestfriend { Zalfie Fanfiction }

Chapter 1 💗

I must be lucky today I think to myself as I pick out a half eaten chicken baguette and I lick my lips and I prepare myself as I open my mouth "no, don't eat that! Please" I hear a familiar voice and it instantly makes my mind spin and it comes to me, before I was chucked onto the street I used to watch her on YouTube "wow she's changed, she's so pretty and Alfie he looks so grown up" I murmur to myself and a familiar black car pulls up with tinted windows "run!" I tell them and they go back onto the street and I jump onto the lid on the bin and grab the gutter and haul myself up while the man runs towards and I run along the rooftop and jump to another. My brother taught me how to do parkour, we used to do it together that was before he disappeared. The man tries get up but the gutter snaps and water soaks him and I stand and stare "I will get you next time you ungrateful little bitch!!" He shouts while waving a butcher knife at me and my heart quickens and panic rises in me and I can hardly breath and I feel myself falling and then it goes black. I wake up on a pile of bin bags unharmed but panicked and I look around no one is there, no black car, no man, no Zoe and Alfie and I decide to eat something and then I wander off to a different alleyway as that man and the women in the car are my mum and dad and they hate me and my two brothers and my sister anyways they know I stay there so I decide to move. I grab my thin dirty blanket and a single piece of cardboard and I walk off and I eventually find a different alleyway far away but still in Brighton and I settle down and I close my eyes as I'm tired and a wet thing touches my face so I open one eye terrified and a white dog comes into view and I open my other eye and it looks abandoned as it's thin, has fur missing, looks sad and he settles down on my lap so I put my blanket over him.

We fall asleep together, I wake u and I move slightly and my body is all stiff and he opens his eyes and stands up and stretches and yawns and I think of a name "Jasper" that's perfect so I name him that and there are some bins and I find some chicken and I give it to Jasper as he comes first. I find a piece of cardboard and a pen and I write on it

And we walk into the street and I sit and lean against the wall with Jasper lying next to me and I put the cardboard in front of me and a man walks up to me and I shiver "use this" he says and puts a plastic tub and lid in front of me and he puts a fiver and down change in it "thank you so much!" I say and he smiles and I see kindness in his eyes "it's my pleasure" he says and walks off and some other people put some random change and stuff in. We've been sitting here for about 5 hours now and we have exactly £28.40 and a man and women approach me and I suddenly feel very trapped and I put the lid on the tub with the money in, I grab the sign and run and Jasper follows and I run down the alley and sit down and I slow my breathing. Jasper already knows how to sit, lie down and stay and I tell him to stay outside as I walk into a small pet shop and I grab a simple blue collar and lead

two plain dog bowls which are £2 pound each so £4, I get a pack of six canned dog food for £3.50 and I grab a blue and black dog coat

which is £2 and I walk up to the counter and the women scans them "£16.50 please" she says and I hand her two fivers and a lot of change and she puts it all in a bag and I go out and take the tags off everything and I put the collar on him, I put his coat on and clip the lead to his coat and I go to another shop and I still have £12.90 left and I get a pack of 6 big water bottles and they were on a deal so they were only £1 and I get two blankets which are £3 each so £6 and I pay and I have £4.90 left so I call it a night and we go back to our alleyway but we get fish and chips on the way and if i took extra chips then I would only have to pay £2 cause they have so many left and they wouldn't be alright to eat tomorrow so I took them and we sit down on some cardboard and I fill his water bowl using one of the water bottles and I use a little bit of dog food out of one of the cans and I put it into his other bowl after he wanders off but not far and he goes to the toilet and settles down next to me and I lay one blanket over him and I lay the other over me and I eat the fish and I give Jasper some and since we have loads of chips he helps and we've both only had a couple of things over the last few days and we snuggle down and the blankets are much better and I remember about my old one so I lay that over the top of Jester's because of course he comes first, I have no idea of the time but it's in between day and night.

4 months later

Zoe's POV
"Alfie this is a problem!" I say "I know, we need to help her and her dog" he says "I know but anytime someone goes to close to her she runs" I say "we'll work something out but right now we need to focus on getting near her so we can talk or at least give her something" he says. We arrive back at our house (in this they live in the house they just moved into like a month ago or something) "Nala!" I say as I walk in the door and she's crazy, jumping all over us and barking and running around, we open the conservatory doors and the kitchen door and Nala runs out onto the grass and starts sniffing the hedges trying to sniff out the rabbits that come out regularly. "Alfie we've approached her once and she still looked a bit uneasy" I say "well what are you waiting for?" He says and I get Nala inside and lock all the doors, I put her matching stripy harness and lead. I lock the front door and jump in next to Alfie, Nala settles into a ball on my lap. We park and look around the place we last saw her which was three and a half months ago, we spot a thin white dog rushing around with a collar on barking "it's alright, shhh" I say calming him he jumps in a direction clearly wanting us to follow. He leads us up an alleyway "I swear I've been that dog before" Alfie says rubbing his stubble confused, we turn the corner up see a girl with brown hair and a pale face lying on the ground, eyes closed, shallow breathing, frozen stiff. "it's her! The girl we were trying to approach" I say quickly all the dots joining up in my head. "Alfie?.....is she......"

End of the first chapter, I've been working on this for months now and your probably like it you've been working on this for months how have you only got one short chapter, well i kept coming back to it and doing little bits at a time 💗🎶
