I've been told that I trust too easily. that I am young and naive in the eyes of the world and her grand scheme.
when I was little, after my first breakup, my mother told me I'd break more hearts than the hearts that had broken me.
I've always been one for proving people wrong.
(8:30 pm. - your car.)
you - "I'm so sorry it has to be this way."
me - "so this is how it ends?"
"not even close, darling."
"how do you figure?"
"neither of us has ever been the monster. to the extent of my assumption skills, we are going to be here for the long haul."
"how could it be for the long haul? I barely know you at all. I thought you only wanted a shot at being the monster."
"then why'd you say yes?"
"I'm so used to being the prey, it's all I know. how is this the long haul?"
"you ask far too many questions, darling."
