Pete wrote so many songs about Mikey, so it makes sense he would say "Thanks for the memories". That line has a bittersweet feeling to it. One tone is "thanks for making me think about you all the freaking time!" and another tone is "thanks for making this a beautiful summer."
"Even though they weren't so great" goes back to the bittersweet tone. The memories are a little ruined by the end of their relationship.
"HE tastes like you only sweeter." How heterosexual of you, Pete.And then there's the little line: One night stand. That goes back to "one night and one more time", how it felt so short.
