Recap:
Hello? I send into the pack link.
Hey. It's a voice I haven't heard in the link before. It's deep and strong. I shudder at the new presence in my head. I feel it weaving through me. He's unfolding things inside me. My arms give out below me and I'm laying on my back again.
Suddenly, His hands are under my legs and my arms and He's carrying me. We're moving, quickly.
The surroundings are a blur, I didn't know anybody could run this quickly.
My mind feels like it's been rolled out under the warm sun, stretching and expanding.
I look up at the face of the invader.
III:
We're in the woods. It's damp and it's dark but I feel light and warm.
Kratos.
My hands curl into shaky fists and I clench my muscles. Without looking down at me, he tightens his grip on me and clenches his jaw in rage. His hands hurt, but I don't say anything. I think I've caused enough trouble for one day.
We stop in front of an old beat up wood cabin. Placing me back on my feet he opens the door, signaling me to proceed. I hesitate but follow the silent command.
It's only one room, crowded by a wood burning stove and a bed. Just as the door shuts behind me, I'm pushed against the wall, caged in by his arms beside my head.
He's staring me down and I have no choice but to look away.
"I'm... I'm sorry." I mutter out, feeling obliged to apologize to the beast.
Silence.
"I know I shouldn't have.. I shouldn't have done what I just did.."
Silence.
"And what is it exactly that you think you've done?" He growls.
I gulp.
"You know... reject you." My voice slowly fades into a whisper.
Suddenly he erupts. "Reject me? You think I'm mad because you rejected me?"
He doesn't need to shout for his voice to feel like actual lava spewing on my soul.
"You think I ask for permission before taking what's mine?" He snarls.
"Hey! I have rights too, you don't just get to claim me like some piece of property!" I suddenly fill with rage myself. I lift my hands up to begin to push him away but he immediately pins them to the wall behind me.
He bends a little and comes mere inches from my face.
"I'm mad because you're incredibly fucking stupid."
My lower lip begins to quiver and tears rush to my eyes. I look up and away from his burning eyes.
Don't cry. Don't cry. Don't cry.
I gulp.
"Okay..", I say with a shaky breath.
"You healed a worthless little man pup in front of strangers. Are you trying to get killed."
I scrunch up my eyebrows. "That's why you're mad!?" A tear drops, uncontrollably.
"That wasn't just any old little man pup, that was Sean." I insist.
Kratos lets go of my wrists.
His eyes are dark black. "I don't care who it was, your little boyfriend or not."
Boyfriend?
I say nothing. Maybe to punish him or make him jealous. Maybe I was still trying to push him away, stop myself from getting close to him.
Suddenly the door barges open. I let out a little scream and Kratos calmly faces the intruder.
"Sir, we've got an issue." It's one of Kratos' men, one of the Eight.
Kratos stands up straight, nodding in completely secret understanding of this silent issue.
"What? What's the issue?" I ask.
Silence.
"Hello.. what's going on?"
"I'll take her back, you guys know what to do." Kratos grunts.
"Sir, with all do respect, but if you're not there they'll know who we've found".
"Who will know what? What is happening!?" I'm on the verge of jumping out the window at this point.
Kratos turns. He grabs me by the waist and pulls me forward. He looks as if he's thinking hard about something, then backs away. He flings the door open and launches himself into his midnight black, warrior wolf.
I gasp.
His wolf is emanating thick flames.
