The tension from the confrontation with the Bluestone Pack lingered in the air, but we had more pressing matters to attend to. The annual hunt was approaching, and preparations needed to be made. As the meeting concluded, my father called me over.

"Nakita, we need to discuss the hunt," he said, his tone serious.

I nodded, following him to his office. The room was filled with maps and documents, evidence of the meticulous planning that went into every event.

"We need to ensure this hunt goes smoothly," my father began. "The Bluestone Pack will be looking for any excuse to challenge our authority."

"I understand," I replied. "We'll be ready."

My father looked at me, his yellow eyes piercing. "I know you will. But there's something else. I've received word that Cain and Ryder are planning to challenge you during the hunt."

I felt a surge of anger. "Let them try. They won't succeed."

"That's the spirit," my father said with a rare smile. "But be careful. They're not to be underestimated."

I left my father's office, my mind racing. A challenge from Cain and Ryder was inevitable, but I was determined to prove myself. I gathered my pack and briefed them on the situation.

"Cain and Ryder are planning something during the hunt," I told them. "We need to be on high alert."

Jay nodded. "We'll be ready, Nikki."

The days leading up to the hunt were filled with intense training. We practiced our strategies, honed our skills, and prepared for any scenario. The anticipation was palpable, and I could feel the adrenaline coursing through my veins.

Finally, the day of the hunt arrived. The neutral location chosen was a dense forest, perfect for the event. Packs from all over had gathered, and the atmosphere was charged with excitement and tension.

As we assembled at the starting point, I caught sight of Cain and Ryder. They were talking with their pack, their expressions confident and smug. I clenched my fists, determined not to let them get under my skin.

The signal to start the hunt was given, and we moved swiftly into the forest. My pack spread out, each member taking their assigned positions. We communicated through subtle signals, our movements synchronized and precise.

Hours passed, and we encountered various challenges, but nothing we couldn't handle. Then, as the sun began to set, I sensed movement nearby. I signaled to my pack to stay alert.

Cain and Ryder emerged from the shadows, flanked by members of their pack. "Well, well, if it isn't the De Luca pack," Cain sneered.

"What do you want, Cain?" I asked, my voice steady.

"We're here to challenge you, Nikki," Ryder said, stepping forward. "Let's see if you're really as tough as you think."

I took a deep breath, readying myself for the confrontation. "Bring it on."

The forest fell silent as we squared off, the tension thick in the air. This was it—the moment to prove my worth as an Alpha.

Cain lunged first, his movements quick and aggressive. I dodged, countering with a swift punch that caught him off guard. Ryder circled around, trying to flank me, but Jay intercepted him, their clash echoing through the trees.

My pack moved in unison, each member taking on an opponent. Zeke and Marx were a whirlwind of strength, their powerful blows sending Bluestone members reeling. Storm and Rayne used their agility to outmaneuver their foes, while the twins, Jack and Ashling, worked together seamlessly, their coordination impeccable.

Cain recovered quickly, his eyes blazing with fury. "You're going to regret this, Nikki," he snarled, launching another attack. I met him head-on, our fists and kicks a blur of motion. The forest floor became our battleground, leaves and dirt flying as we fought.

Despite his size and strength, Cain was no match for my speed and precision. I landed a series of blows, each one driving him back. He stumbled, and I seized the opportunity, delivering a final, decisive punch that sent him crashing to the ground.

Ryder, seeing his brother defeated, hesitated. Jay took advantage of the moment, disarming him and forcing him to yield. The rest of the Bluestone Pack, seeing their leaders bested, quickly surrendered.

I stood over Cain, breathing heavily but victorious. "This is your last warning, Cain. Challenge me again, and you won't get off so easily."

He glared up at me, his pride wounded but his spirit unbroken. "This isn't over, Nikki."

"We'll see," I replied, turning to my pack. "Let's go."

As we made our way back to the starting point, I felt a sense of pride and relief. We had proven ourselves, but I knew this was just the beginning. The Bluestone Pack would be back, and we needed to be ready.
