I knew love not long ago
For it was pure & helped me grow
It showed me things I never knew
I knew love that was so true
I knew love just yesterday
For it had taught me a new way
A new way of life, a new way of giving
I knew love was the reason worth living
I knew love a while before
For it came right through my door
With many opportunities & full of devotion
I knew love was immense like an ocean
I knew love wasn't meant for me
For it left me so quickly
Without an answer or a reason
I knew love that came & went like a season
