"H for hug, I for IQ, J for... for... Hyung, what's J for?" Jisung looked up from his homework and stared at Winwin with his big eyes.
Winwin struggled to balance the tray on his right palm and sent a panic stare at you. "J...? Erm, Yerim? Can you give me some help here?"
Sighing in defeat, you got up from the couch and made your way towards Winwin. "You know, I've always warn you about doing things you can't... "
In a flash, your coherent mumbles stopped short when your boyfriend misplaced his footing and stumbled forward. Credited to your quick reflex, you stepped forward and snatched the tray from the air.
However, to your horror and Jisung's amusement, the cups on the tray flew into the air due to the effect of inertia.
As a result, the content of the cups; chocolate drinks meant for twelve thirsty orphans, splashed all over you. For a while, heavy silence ensued in the room.
"Everyone!!! Taeyong's sorry for being late- what's happening here?" Your ex roommate for four years back in university stopped with heavy plastics dangling from his fingers. For a while, no one answer his inquiries, let alone react to the dripping clothes you adorned.
Chocolate. Chocolate. More chocolate.
Your eyes followed the terrifying browny drips staining your favourite white shirt agonizing slowly.
Suddenly, someone yanked your wrist, waking you up from a trance. "You need to wash up a bit." Taeyong said in an annoyed voice.
Letting Taeyong dragged you to the toilet, it took you a moment to realize that the stained shirt was Taeyong's birthday gift to you last year.
In front of the toilet, Taeyong pulled off his sweater to reveal a black shirt underneath. "Here. You need this more than me." He said and threw the sweater towards you.
Knowing him from experience, you relented from a bubbling argument and shrugged at him. "Thanks."
Nodding his head, Taeyong gestured towards the toilet and let a smile faltered his previous serious expression.
When you walked out of the toilet with the shirt scrubbed as clean as possible, Taeyong was holding a key in one hand and playing video game in his phone with another. When he saw you, a smile made its way to his lips and he straightened from his leaning position against the opposite wall.
Locking his phone, Taeyong pointed at the damp shirt. "Do you want to hang the shirt outside? I've the laundry room key..." He let his sentence hang unfinished and smiled cheekily. With a chuckle, you gestured towards the hallway. "Fine, Mr. Lee. Please lead the way. "
Taeyong grinned and bowed at you mockingly. "As you wish, princess." As he spun around,he began to run down the hallway, shouting; "The last one need to drive back to campus!!! "
Shaking your head in disbelief, you chased him till outside the orphanage. Of course, not even Taeyong could beat your speed as a sprinter.
"Ha! You lose." You stuck your tounge out childishly as Taeyong got before the laundry room locked door with quick gasps. "I give up. You're too quick. Here." He handed the key and crouched to clutch his chest, panting heavily.
A winning smile graced your lips for most of the day.
*******
"You okay?" Winwin asked as both of you were in the playroom later that evening, cleaning up the used toys.
"As okay as I'll ever be with you." Noticing your gloomy expression upon the change of topic, Winwin offered apology in silence by cleaning up the room himself and letting you help Taeyong setting up the sleeping arrangement upstairs.
