John sighed deeply as he collapsed into the cafeteria chair, taking a large gulp of the now lukewarm coffee. He shuddered slightly as he realised it had gone cold. Gingerly placing the cup down on the table, he lifted his gaze to let his eyes scan the familiar room.
Sherlock was usually here in the mornings, sitting and scribbling in a notebook, the other side of the cafeteria. Not that he'd been checking, it was just hard not to notice the boy , his dark curls hunched over as he concentrated.
He had hoped he might see him this morning, maybe go over and say hello, now that they'd spoken. But he wasn't here when John arrived, and he had tried to not look too disappointed.
The blonde stared down at his watch, huffing and standing up as he realised the time. With his back pack swung over his shoulder, he wandered slowly outside , following his route to class.
All of a sudden , he became aware of a soft whimpering from the other side of the building. He frowned a little, deciding to go investigate the source.
Johns eyes widened as he found it, the mop of curly hair from the roof the night before, now curled up in pain against the bricks.
"Sherlock? Shit. " he gasped, chuckling his bag down and quickly kneeling infront of him. He tilted his chin up, revealing the numerous gushing cuts along his skin and the boy's gaze that was avoiding him.
"John?" Came a soft reply, hope lacing the voice.
"Yeah , it's me. What the bloody hell happened" Now, John was very well aware of what probably happened, he knew Sherlock was Anderson's favourite punchbag but he needed to confirm it.
"Anderson. "Sherlock replied,quietly.
"God they are such bastards, I'm so sorry. " John sighed, thinking something over.
"Right, you're coming back with me. You can't stay here, and I doubt you want to. " he told him.
Sherlock looked up at him, hesitation in his eyes, but he was far too weak to refuse help went it was being offered.
He nodded slightly , and before he knew it, John had scooped him into his arms and Sherlock's vision faded to a soft black.
