Three years... Calmdown... It's been three years. You have no idea how much he'schanged, you could have ended up being the better person; but then, maybe not. Perhaps he's been doing extremely well without you, youand all those quirks you have that you wish you could just get rid ofand never have to deal with again. You don't think you've changedthat much over the years and yet you wonder whether he'll like thechanges you have made. Will you like his changes? How will he reactto seeing you again? Will he change his mind about the decisionyou've made of reconnecting? Will he be happy to see you, will theconnection you once had be completely dead? You're overthinking this.Stop!

You open the dark bluedoor that separates you from him; where is he? You send him a messageasking where he is and you're worried he's changed his mind beforehe's even seen you, your heart begins to sink before you receive amessage saying he's just down the road, waiting for you to join himin his car. You play with your hair as nerves begin to creep overyour mind, heart and entire being. How should you walk? How shouldyou speak? How should you have your hair? You reach his car, andthere he is. You have long forgotten how beautiful his light blueeyes were. His slightly crooked smile that just makes him moreperfect. Is smile from confident happiness, or nerves like yours is?He is wearing a hat so you can only imagine that his hair is shorterthan you remember but you cannot be too sure just yet. His red carthat he ironically names Emerald sits there, in waiting.

As you get closer tohis car, you play with your hair nervously. It's evident that you'veboth made changes over the years, and yet now you're sat next to eachother and it's like nothing has changed at all.
'So how have youbeen?' he asks with a wide smile and a sparkle in his sterling blueeyes, after pleasantry hello's and places his hand on your knee.
Youfeel a spark.
You giggle and move your hair behind your ear, trying not to sound as nervous as you actually are but you canalready feel yourself shaking in his presence.
'I've been good;So much has changed over the years.' You say, in a high pitchedsqueak.
'Yeah, it doesn't feel like it's been years does it?' Hesmiles, and you wonder if he is just as nervous as you are.

Eventually asconversation flows and you realise that he's dropped most of what youonce loved about him, his music, his humbleness, and yet he's gainedso much more – and you still love him. He drives up to his newhouse and it's the most beautiful thing you've ever seen – not thatyou were expecting anything less than that. The entrance is open andwindowed and as you step in you feel the cold laminate flooring underyour feet. He gives you a grand tour of the house starting with theliving room, moving to the kitchen and finally it ends with yousitting next to him on his bed, where you watch some populartelevision show you haven't gotten around to seeing yet.

You talk for all offive minutes before he kisses you – and so it begins.

You begin to kiss andhold each other's bodies. He smells like home, and the you melt intofamiliarity you've been missing for three years. You begin bythrowing his hat to a side, his hair is shorter and now has blondtips, you never thought it suited it but it somehow does now. Hemakes your skin tingle with excitement in ways you had forgotten ashis fingers trace down your bare torso. Your bodies move to a rhythmonly the two of you can hear, moaning and groaning as you use allyour might to tantalise each other. You kiss again and you realisejust how long and much you've been waiting for this moment, themoment that you can feel his soft lips against yours again.
This,is exactly what you've been waiting for; this is perfection.
